Very sorry to learn that no regard is placed on other persons hard earned income. A person may not have applied to your institute if this would not have been mentioned on your website. The decision to apply to your institute was taken by me after I got my CAT result.
It was only after I learnt that your institute would not check sectional scores, which I had applied. My hard earned money would have been spent on some other good work only if you had not mentioned that you will not have any sectional cut offs.
Now talking to a Faculty member in your Marketing Department I learnt that you took a late decision to take sectional cut offs.
I demand an answer to as to why did you not be true to what you wrote and then if you decided to go against this thing then why are you not disclosing the real cut off? There is some amount of transparency I demand.
MICA had earned a good amount of respect among students but now when we are being cheated this way I ask, What is it that you intend to teach as marketing techniques to the students of this institute?. To take money by first telling about no sectional cut offs and then to change it by saying that The institute reserves the right to change the selection criteria mid way.
I demand:

I do not remember my form no. so I could not check my result as of yet ... But dosent matter how it turns out for me , I think that u guys should pursue this furthur... If they said that they would not take sectionals and based on that you applied then u have been cheated , not nice... Mica says last years cuto-off was 85 and expect it to be lower this year. Here is the proof: It is contradicted in.

Its pa-gal omnipresent in the MICA thread and mostly the current students of the college stay away. Who is pa-gal? She is not a student, nor alumni, nor a aspiring student. She says her name is Divya Joshi, and has done research on MICA. What is that? She seems as actually being a part of MICA. Her\His actual name is Deval Karthik. Now what sort of marketing is this? A admissions officer posing as someone else... If you go through all her post you will realise how cleverly shes lured hundreds of people to apply to MICA

I am in too. What they have done is both morally & legally wrong. Bad & unethical advt. from the best institute of advt. I know many friends who feel cheated but dont appear on pagalguy. They are with us too! I urge everyone to swarm mica with emails & phone calls asking for explaination. Many of my friends have consulted lawyers too. They say we do have a legal standing as mica has contradicted itself. Also, AICET should be notified of lack of transparency. If mica doesnt do anything quickly, this is going to be dirty man!
They just dont owe us our application fees,postal charges but punitive damages too. All this is not one person's job, we all have to stand tall for this wrong done to us. Pagalguyplease support us. This is a very hot topic & we have only ur portal to discuss. :grab:

just to tell that it was not me who wrote on their website that no sectional cutoffs. it was mica.
secondly if you read my mail carefully my complaint against them is that i would not have applied with my skewed score of 94.1% if had it not been for their reassurance that no sectional cutoffs.
i am demanding that they accept that they had real bad marketing tactics. a person like me would surely not have wasted my money after receiving my cat result.

I do not remember my form number so couldnt ckeck on the site. Called up MICA and the chap said that I wasnt in.But still hopin for the website confirmation(will look for the form number).
Anyways , I am totally with this thread cos I also felt that only overall cut offs will be considered> But I think I was wrong.
I had 99+ in VA but bad in quant.
I dunno what to say guys , too stunned to talk about this pa-gal/deval kartik matter too.I have corresponded with this person. Seems like a nice person but then this dual identity thing , I am not sure bout.
Again , hoping that MICA becomes clear with their selection criteria next year.

Hey if MICA ppl were facing cash problems, then why didnt they just ask for ppl to donate to their institute instead of MISLEADING innocent student into buying thousand buck forms ?? when it clearly says that no sectional cutoffs will be applied, how the hell can they do this now ?? the bastards. not only did ppl who gave cat this year suffer from this gross injustice but even ppl who got good cat scores of last yr would have suffered since they accpeted scores of cat04 as well. puys though i am through first satge of the MIca process but at thesame time i do sympathise with all those who oculd not get through even with good scores.
apart from the DISASTROUS selection process there is something important also which speak volumes about our/our parents hard earned money.
the MICA call letter asks to bring along rs 500/- draft/cheque otherwise you will not be allowed to appear for the second round.
what is rs 1300/- at the time of application for? they hav e earned so much by the no. of applications and at the same time no. of candidates have been rejeted too. why do they need extra 500 bucks for
is this all money minting thing going on? of coure it is BUSINESS school and if they dont do the BUSINESS who else will?
you should definitely sue these ppl.. even if nothing comes out of it atleast gov can instruct them to give mandatory disclosure of selection criteria, as with imi this year..
