dunno how it is possible that you were selected yesterday and are waitlisted now.....that is seriously a blunder on their parts.i think you should speak to mr kgk pillai.
Weell guys ....as stunned as I was to hear this ....I have made it to the waitlist and having gone through this string I can almost safely say tht I am in......
I was just wondering if any of the other people from my GD grp made it....My interview was on the 13th of Mar in MICA itself......I was in Panel 4........we had a fish market gd ...which is why I was sure ki I had no chance...th names I remember are.....Sadat,A GD analyst female i think Ritu...,a couple of guys from Delhi,A female who wanted to dance in her PI....I think Bindya,Ashish,one female with OnM experience(I am sure you must have made it too), and then there was me.....we were a motley crew alright!!!!
Frankly speaking having seen the junta in my grp itself I was sure I had no chance cos I had no workex.....an electronics engineer who discussed the budget and the stock market with the panelists.....and a rather short interview with nothing-not a word -about advertising or anything to show my creativity......also dint properly complete my last answer in the MET......I was sure tht theres surely 120 more decent ppl than me amongst the 1200 that they had called...but Iguess strange things happen all the time 
....
havent yet decided whether I am gonna take it up....but like I said it was a pleasnt surprise....

all this talk of waitlisted ppl standin a good chance at gettin in has lifted my hopes again. this was my second shot at mica, n i'd been to mica for my met/gdpi last year. its an amazing place n m sure two years will fly by like a dream, one which i've had for a while now. aiight i'll cut this mumbo jumbo... hope to see u'll at mica.:)

hey vipin...i most certainly am not misleading anyone...nor has my friend made a grand fool of me...'coz my dad had also sent someone at the institute and he too told me the same things that i have written in my earlier post...it can't be a coincidence...when u went to MICA...did u care to go to the office and ask them for the list?...maybe the people who inquired for me did...anyways...quite positive that there r 120 seats this year and 60 waitlists...also...for the people who r in...they would start dispatching the offer letters from tuesday...and all this info. has been corroborated by two different people...so unless the MICA people r playing tricks...can't be wrong...all i can say is that this is the info. i have ...MAY B i'm wrong...but it's highly unlikely!!

MICA says that CAT scores act as an elimination test for them...ie it doesnt have any weightage in final selections...
BUT IS IT POSSIBLE that after grading students according to their MET/GD/PI performance, they arrange them in descending order of their CAT scores? that alone would explain why many students opt for other colleges and waitlisted ppl get in...
Bear in mind is that the operative word is AFTER merit ranking met/gd/pi performance...otherwise there are 98%ile+ ppl who would get through...

Another day has gone by...and my my quivering spirit refuses to calm down...when will the promised letter arrive and when shall i truly know that i have made it??????????? thinking about all the stuff that i shall do when i get to mica is driving me crazy...anyway a little about my skill set includes portrait sketching, singing (good at western vocals), poetry writing, love to listen to soft music like enya, dido, cranberries, and the like...want to learn the guitar, french (since i plan on going to escem if i get in 
) and clay pottery too...well this describes me...waiting to hear more about ppl hopeful to get in..
Disha that was quite an amazing piece of poetry........really reflects what we all feel...hope u get in...so we can have more poetry sessions at mica............

Hey vipin i dont think ur theory makes any sense...cause then what would happen to all the gmat candidates who have earned the requisite 600 score? I am one of those candidates and strongly believe that the cat or the gmat scores do not play any role in the final selection. Another case in point for this is that one of my friends has gotten selected and her cat percentile is 84!

The GMAT entry route is one created only this year. There were 26 applicants for 7--10 seats.

after the confusion abt the selection process at MICA just thot would bring into notice the fact that i was told the same thing wen i scored 86 %ile in CAT...that chances are too bleak...but i am selected...and as far as my experience goes, MICA, for one, does go by individual applications rather than general process for selection of its candidates...
and after reading the pg posts i do believe that all the ones waitlisted and really keen on joining will definitely get thru and we will meet at MICA

Im pretty sure that the list will clear and the ppl who're waitlisted now will know they're in by Monday. Really happy for all u guys. Kari..... Shocked that MICA dint grab at u! But they will! No doubt wtsoever! 
I, on the other hand, did'nt make it. Im still alive tho'. Minor coronary dysfunction...... but not too big a deal! Did'nt even need to go to the ICU! Lol! I guess its now St. Xaviers, Mumbai {TV & film Production} or Jamia {next yr} for me. At least now for a yr i can start working full time in Production.
Really upset abt Bugs and Jormund too! Wts MICA thinking?!!?? Pleezzzzzzz tell me u guys made it to the 2nd list.......! Here's a thought..............! why dont u sue MICA? I'll join u. lol!
Okie.......... me's just losing my head! I'll post again when it finds its way back.

m one of the guys whose status went from "waitlisted" to "selected" within a day.. after seeing the anxious posts of lots of people, i think it is true tht the waitlist will b cleared.. i personally know people with more than 4 calls from IIMs who have been selected in MICA (uincluding me), so i see n o reason why we shouldn't keep our hopes high!
more importantly, i wanted to know if any one frm my group made it finally? i had MET/GD/PI on march 13th at MICA. Panel 5. shivani? rahul? anyone? I was the arbit guy who said "it has been an early morning" for the question "How was ur day?"!!! that shud help people to remember me!
