Its been more than 24 hrs since i found out that i have made it.. but i m still on a high!!
I guess alot of ppl here wud share my feelings..
But this post is actually meant for a friend.. i know he desereved MICA.. much more than i did.. and he has not made it.. this my sincere prayer that his name turns up on the second list.. i dont believe much in god or miracles.. but i do believe in HOPE!! So if there are any MICA gods.. they are sure to be checking out this MICA forum and i hope they take note..

dunno how it is possible that you were selected yesterday and are waitlisted now.....that is seriously a blunder on their parts.i think you should speak to mr kgk pillai.
as for the 2nd list....they had clearly mentioned it in the first message that students got if they hadn't made it it in the first list.
anyway the new message reads
We are sorry to inform that your name does not appear in the lists of selected or waitlisted candidates.
so i don't think there will be anymore lists.
and yes for tose waitlisted it still does say youhave a very high chance of getting confirmed.....which i think is the standard message.

i'm a fledgling at PG n its been a sad "1st postings".... im not on either the wait/final list for MICA...
hav a 99.99 in va, a 96 in DI n 17 in QUANT!! with a 97 overall at CAT... MICA gd was obnoxious but PI was a grand half an hr affair.. had decent hopes for this one...
only an nmims call was my alternativ (plz note the past tense here..coz hopes on that r not too high either)... man i'm SAD!! this is my 2nd CAT n last time too i had similar break ups with an SP call...
im in a black hole now.. shud i just chuck my mba dream or settle for any mumbai college tat i get or go off to the himalayas n renounce the world??....
...are lofty dreams only that-lofty?? or vagrant is an adjective for not just the monsoons but mba admissions too??

hey guys...i was in the waitlisted...but now i'm thru...its confirmed...they have put up a list in MICA...i had sent a friend to check the list...he tells me that 120 students have made it (INCLUDING ME!!)...and there are 60 in the waitlist...he spoke to the MICA people about the waitlisted candidates...they told him that chances r really really high 'coz the people selected r the cream and hence a lot of them have multiple calls...as a result a lot of them don't take up MICA (that's something they can say from past experience!)...infact they were so sure of the waitlisted people getting in that they even said that though we have an infrastructure for 120 students...we may not get in so many as most people do not take up the offer...they said they expected about 80-90 students to finally take up the offer......also...they said that the main criteria for selection was the interview...the test came a close seciond...GD was not too important...I hope this clears up a lot of confusion...for all the guys who have made it...see u at MICA...for the people who r waitlisted...i'm quite sure i'll see u at MICA...and the people who haven't made it...hang in there...this was my second CAT...and would've given it again had i not got thru...i'm sure u can get thru next year even if u don't convert other calls this year...and remember...we all were shortlisted after competing with about 1.5 lac people...we r all achievers...irrespective of whether we have converted calls or not!!...so a big cheers to all of us...ATB!!

Me too on the waitlisted list now... 'now' coz I wasnt earlier... so well, hope floats... According to lastest news @ MayB 60 ppl havta hav multiple calls for everyone on the waiting list to get through... and even one of them renouncing MICA aint on this forum!!... what does that say @ the odds...

Another doubt I have for thr MICAns is that the fee structure given to us ( with the prospectus) only addes up to 2.4 lakhs for the whole course. How the hell does it come up to 5.8 lakhs? Another thing is do you have holidays during december? What is the schedule like end of dec?

its clearly mentioned in the prospectus that the fee given is for jus the first year...same applies for second year...with 10 % increase and with laptop charges it comes to around 5.8 ...
abt holidays check the site...as far as i remember they have term break in the last week of dec.

My dad just called up Mica...Spoke to Mr.Kgk pillai (who i profess to pestering over the past year )...And guess what he actually remembers me as the girl who keeps mailing him...he knew i was waitlisted and he told my dad to pay the Demand draft...from the tone of his voice my dad says he was pretty sure about my chances...he also said i shall be receiving a mail with the details of the draft...and another thing...he said it would be better if we go there personally with the draft...all this has led me to be very apprehensive coz i dunno what all this means...it still shows am waitlisted on the site...so dunno what to make of this at all.......

Ballpark figure: Rs 5.8 lakh for the 2 years. That includes tuition, boarding, mess, library, some misc stuff & laptop. You can bring your own laptop if you want to or you can buy it subsidized from the insti. If you want the exact structure (the figures for our batch) - tell me, I'll PM it to ya.

I took the pain of doing 30 kms on reading this post today...THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LIST LIKE THAT over there.
In fact chances are that they have selected just 60 odd people and waitlisted another 120 for a batch size of 120...which explains why they are pretty confident that waitlisted students will get through. I agree that many of those selected/waitlisted wont take up MICA becoz they have IIM, XLRI, SPJain, MDI and other grand final calls...which is why most WAITLISTED will find their way into MICA.
My case is exact opposite of yours...was selected when the list came out initially and waitlisted later on...they attributed it to data entry error...anyway convinced me that i will make it to mica and even told me to start packing and forget attending other gd/pi calls...
