spoke to Mr.KGK Pillai this morning......I had a doubt bout the initial 87k which waitlisted ppl pay cause I was gonna take a loan so wasnt sure if the bank would reimburse me the 87k tht I pay initially as the banks only issue DDs to the institute directly...he said tht IF you egt selected once the bank pays us we'll reimburse the money to you... so dont worry
Then I asked him about the number of seats he said 60...max 70...I dont mean to disappoint you guys but its the harsh truth....
Then I asked him wot the message sayin chances of conversion are hight meant......he asked me my form number....looked me up in the list..asked me if my name was XYZ XYZ and then he said my chances of conversion are very high...99% i should get selected 😃 ....I dunno how credible his word is but a MICAN I spoke to said hes the right person to talk to about these matters so...keeping my fingers crossed......
I think other people should also call up and ask him very politely and lets see what he says......

Dude ..I really wouldn't worry if I were you....what probably happened was that say at first they selected X students...then they realised it was a lil high so mebbe they cut the list down to say x-10...now obviously these 10 guys are the first 10 ppl on thw waitlist.....but this doesnt explain waitlisted ppl going into the selected list....so ambiguity still rules supreme....
about Lav Thakker being a clerk thts wot a senior also told me........
Why dont a FEW MORE PEOPLE CALL UP....eventually we'll realise that everyone has a 99% chance of getting in.....:)....probabiltiy theory goes for a toss 😃 😃

Does any one with a similar problem have print out of earlier communication that u r selected n now that u r waitlisted??? I know a person at a very senior level who claims such mistakes never happen a t MICA and if it does and if students have proof then they will have to grant every1 admission who have been told that they r selected..

dude printouts can be very easily tampered with
so they dont hold validity .....
i really dont think they will make any difference
but u can obviously try if it works

Does both the message say your name..?? or is it just a plain common message saying congratulations u have been selected?? Anyways you can hold them to account collectively ..if the same thing has happened (which it has) to all of u..legelly u sd get admission..!! Thats what i have been told by that gentleman

Each time i convince my self that ou were not worth mica and that's why you were rejected....some one comes up with something like this and i again(i really hate it but can't stop my hands) go up to the mica site and see my result.

Reading this thread actually gave me the jitters. I have no idea wt i wud've done if my admission status went from 'Selected' to 'Waitlisted'. Totally Freaky! And to top it all, there's so much anxiety abt the loan for the fees, the laptop etc.....
Im just glad that, thanx to my MICA result {'Sorry........ blah blah blah...' which has'nt changed btw} Im going to do a much more intensive production course in half the time period and by paying 1/6th of the money! Thats right, 1/6th...............!

My dad went and paid the fees for Mica personally today...Mr KGK has said that only 8 people have paid so far...makes me feel a tad bit happier to hear that....as usual im told that i have at least 50 people behind me on the waitlist....
Still waiting for the waitlist to clear...A long wait i guess...(sorry couldnt resist the pun)

once again a post by Karishmag.ji has caught my attention...it has made me realise tht the MICA guys do have some grounds to say tht chances of waitlisted people are high......I am still confused whether I should pay the money (I'm waitlisted) or hold out for a year.....can anyone her...anyone....seniors, speculators and other general MICA fans that if I really work hard at MICA and do the course as dilligently as possibe (and I dont mean only study...) can I be assured of starting at atleast 4.5 lacs to 5lacs pa...I am looking at Brand Management and the range for BM given in the brochure is 4-8 lacs.....also highest salary at MICA this yr was 12lacs (corect me if I am wrong)
please guys ...a word of advice needed...I am trying to make a very important decision out here......
Hmmm... Basically, 8 people have paid in the first 10 days. Still 15 more days to go. Maximum payments come in the last week, not first since most ppl in could still be waiting for loans to get cleared, or for news from other colleges, or for just more info, considering even w/listed ppl havta think twice. Its just the w/listed ppl who get anxious seeing the 'number will start moving up as soon as you pay' :huh: who r paying up hastily.
@ almustafa, the deal is- U can b sure of v tough competetion, since ppl have been chosen with care. Everyone is paying 6 lac, v. high by most standards, and hence logically, most will be aiming at the highest ROI. Bottomline- hardwork and dilligence be taken for granted. 😃 Anyway, in two years with decent work, me thinks a 4.5 should be fairly attainable (esp. in brand mgmt). Plenty good work and it should be quite more, since they have given a 4-8 range as of now.
