MICA-bashing to vent frustration is one thing, but ppl, taking it out on fellow pgites is a bit too much. There are many people who think they have a valid reason for being angry at MICA.. hell, I am one of them... fellow pgite proudnsitian is taking concrete action on his doubts... If there was a results goof up, then definitely is really painful for those who have seen conflicting results withing two days. Bashing MICA though does not seem to be the solution.
I have been waitlisted the whole time though and can't wait to see whether I will go over to the other side.
There was a suggestion a while ago that we could mail mica and ask them for waitlist numbers but again I think it may not wash. We could try I guess. No loss really.
My request is for the waitlisted people who have their letters to just post the detailed contents as I may not be able to access my letter for a week or so.
Another request for the MICA seniors, if possible atleast confirm the number of seats.
I do agree with proudnsitian.. this is really irresponsible on their part.. i m just glad that it dint happen to me.. else even i wud be outraged.. i wud really like to be a part of the team that helps the IT dept from next year.. since i m from computer science background also.. how the hell can results keep changing like this??

I got my offer letter today.One thing i found really funny was their insistence on which laptop we shud get ??!! how strange is that..i mean i thought as consumers we had the choice to decide.. !! but they prefer only centrino/mac G4 platform ?? mujhe to bahut hee funny laga..
Although i m a little disappointed that they have put the date of registration as 25th june.. my engg gets over around last week of may and that gives me barely one month to chill out before MICA. Was hoping for some more time :huh:

1. Think about it, out of the limited number of ppl accessing this forum, quite a few are having such unpleasant experiences. And their IT team goofed up twice! a) First time code wasnt properly done. And yet they linked it up on their site. Trial run. Fair enough. b) After making amends, a new kind of error where some people greeted with their names were given INCORRECT info! HOW difficult can it be to get an algo for 100-odd people right?!
And What difference does it make if other B-schools hav made errors or not? Thats hardly an excuse.
2. WHY do waitlisted ppl have to pay?!! Isint the simple catch that even waitlisted people cant withdraw without losing v large amounts of money evident and unfair? U gimme seat, I give u money... whats wrong with that?
3. The waitlisted people dont have numbers. Forget the numbers- HOW the hell can the last person on the w/list have a "high chance of confirmation"??!! It is just misleading, and shows lack of consideration for students emotions. (I second the guy who suggested we all mail mica about it)
Why is there such an ABSOLUTE LACK OF TRANSPERENCY regarding so many things about MICA?!

MICA has been my most coveted destination since my graduation days and this goddamn waitlist comes as an insult to injury.
Do you see the difference yourself? There was a lull on the thread during the filmi chin-wag and now as the winds of the real world are blowin in the right direction many people are participating in this loggerhead scenario. This is what I call give-n-take.

it seems a lot of us have been meted out the same treatment by MICA: selected first n later waitlisted. infact, callin up their office yeilds no result as they come up with the same re-cycled crap for every caller " u r very high on the wait list, i wud suggest u pay ur fees" or probably, "u r 80% in" types. MICA is jus goin crazy n drivin me nuts.... i m in complete agreement with zonked and all the ppl who wish for transparency, n those who feel MICA bashing is happenin, plz take a break n give us one!!!! my intention is to screw life 4 MICA, but tht shall happen after the entire admissions process is over: wither i m in or m out. i know it is ethically incorrect to wait n watch n then take action, but i m human and have to do start my Post Graduation this year. its like this, a handful of ppl do not make the slightest diff to a BIG institute like MICA. comin from ex-proffs at MICA it was a bit shockin to learn tht this kind of crap happens durin admission time at MICA all the time. hi dost i think u r absolutely right u have done no mud slinging just brought in some points which are more than valid firstly even though i didnt have changes in my results ...i was in throughout however a person who was in one time and out the next must have been crestfallen and if u r waitlisted how can u have the guts to aks for a loan (i am taking one and i am sure most of us would be ) 87k is not a small amount and i cant even think of paying that much ....if waitlisted or even someone saying i was 100% in ...so 80 or 75 is of no use i think all of u shld mail mica and tell them what an unfeasible idea they have come up with ......hope u succeed to drill this thing into them...and they withdraw the money request for wl candidates however i wish all of u make it and am waiting to meet all of u at the campus all the very best regards nikhil
hi guys, im one of those ppl who have been dumped to the waitlist after having been selected. not only is it a cruel trick to play on ppl, it is causing a hell of a problem logistically as far as their dd is concerned. there is this poll on pg for ppl who are not going to be taking the mica seat, so all such ppl go n vote on that, maybe we'll get a clearer picture. till then, lets get as many ppl as we can to mail mica n ask them to release waitlist no.s or something to help us take a decision. one more thing. ARE THESE GUYS GIVING US A RECEIPT FOR THE DD? how are waitlisted ppl supposed to know that mica has gotten our money? also, how soon do we get our money back if we dont make it?how do we even prove that we've paid them if they dont give us a receipt?

hi everyone...i called the office and asked them for my waitlist number...first they put me on hold like indefinitely and the fourth time that i called them they said that they "don't know" the numbers...apparently only the admission guys know (so hellooooooo let me speak to them but noooooooo)...it's a really really opaque system...but if u think about it, it kind of ensures that only people who're absolutely sure and truly keen on going to mica will end up there...since someone like me will pay irrespective of my waitlised number cos i'll jump at any chance of getting in...and there's nothing to lose right...cos if ur not through u get ur entire money back...so apart from the added suspense i feel that it's all okay man...if ur in ur in if ur not it's cool cos it's a clean refund..

I talked to MICA ppl, they say that the number of seats are 90.
Despite asking multiple times, they are not willing to reveal a waitlist number. They do say that the chances of all waitlisted getting cleared are 75% and also that the number of people selected for the 90 seats are 60.
This definitely does not agree with what I found the other day on querying the site for all ppl but it is the official version. No MICA bashing/no problems with the modus operandi, just one question I hope someone asks them.....No of people waitlisted....want the official version on this too.
And about the fee thing....its as simple as only those who think they want MICA and MICA only will definitely pay up.....those who have other calls/options that they are considering would definitely not want to lose out on a minimum of 40 K (given the option to withdraw before 30th April)
So another bunch of best wishes for the waitlisted ppl (including me)....Hope this works out alright for everyone involved........:huh:

First of all Mr mustafa please get ur facts right before u accuse people....i do not and never have 'sucked up' as u called it to Mica...if thats the case then i dont think i would be waitlisted...i think its against anybodies dignity to be called out for expressing her opinion in giving a rational minded view...i guess ur too closed eyed with ur frustration to think that there can be another side to the coin as well...Secondly i have always maintained that i agree that Mica has not always been professional...u need to read my earlier posts to know this for a fact...in fact i was one of the ppl that was called out earlier by dynamica for being frustrated at mica (now tahts an irony dont u think)...demanding tranparency by mailing mica for waitlisted numbers is a good idea...oh and im aware that peoples career is at stake here...we all are aware of that thank you!
