is there anybody here who feels that mica fees is exhorbitantly high?.......hey seniors , cud u plz tell us wot exactly do they impart us in close to 6 lacs they absorb frm us?........plz tell us what other activities apart frm pure classes do the conduct....as in field studies etc.....i guess mica has 1 of the highest fee structures.....pitch in with ur comments ppl

avg hovers around lower end of the range 3-4 l.p.a......neways we've had enuf discussions on packages......but ths fees thing is really annoying......still dunno wot exactly will these 6 lacs doled into mica will fetch us in the two yrs,....(in tangible terms)....creative satisfaction goes to dogs wen u hav to shell out such amt of money......n im not in favour of burdening my parents with it....ges i'll hav to luk fr loan+parents' help ........n im sceptic if these lacs will fetch me wot i aspired to achieve in this field.
guys i have decided to write to the Mica admissions office and also Mr. Luv Thaaker explaining to him my situation and also tht 87k is a rather large amt. for me so t will be really great if mica could release the waitlist nos. so people can make informed decisions. its not like we are asking him to divulge super classfed info...i dont see anything wrong with being transparent here...... I strongly suggest tht you guys mail MICA as well.....cos when they find a substantial no. of requests they'll surely consider releasing the waitlist nos.

I think it's about time we do away with the hero, hero-in, villian thingie ASAP and not consume anymore threadspace. This nettles us all as it concerns only a few and no give-n-take thing attached to it. There are a lot more debatable concerns than just going ha-ha hu-hu about a triangular love story with a patently villainous role indispensible from the movie as in most of the hoary bollywood movies. People in the waitlist go into the merit list but ever heard of a person in merit list going into the waitlist???...sounds ridiculous, doesnt it???
The case in point is Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA).... Immorality and Unethical practices have been exemplified by the histrionics of this institute.....
Before i begin let me tell you that i have an aggreagate of 98.71 percentile in CAT with a 99.85 in Verbal.
When the final results came out, i was pleased to see that i had been selected....the message read: "Congratulations! You have been selected for PGPCM 2005-07. You will be hearing from our admissions office shortly."
Somebody had told me that last year some people found their names in the list on the first day but not on the subsequent days. Though i somehow disbelieved this, i went ahead and checked my result again many times for the next three days. Each time i got the same congratulatory message.
Today, i got my letter which says that i have been WAITLISTED..... Stunned by disbelief i went to the website to check my result, only to find that it too says that i have been waitlisted !!
The reason i suppose is simple... It is a clear case of MICA entertaining back-door entry and nepotism. How else do you account for such a dispieriency?May i tell you that in any case i shall not join MICA... It is simply a case of fighting for justice....I have nothing to lose and shall make sure that atleast the students/applicants are made aware of the wrongdoings of the institute.
I am dashing off emails to all board of governers at MICA and am ready to go further if need be.... I first raised my voice when MICA started asking for those Rs 500 DD (This was not speciefied in the prospectus/website) . I had even posted a thread for this...but did not get much support from members who said that many other institutes do the same ( a great excuse!).
One request, guyz plz dont remain silent...... what has happened to me could very well happen to a genuine aspirant of MICA too...Its a question of the careers of thousands of students...And god knows for how many years in the past, MICA has been doing this....

Lets clear some things here. We've had enough of mud-slinging against MICA. It has been repeated many times over. There was a glitch at the IT end while compiling final admit lists. The mailed hard copy from the programme office is the only conclusive proof of your admit status. This is the case with not just MICA . Many prominent B-Schools print a disclaimer message on the online admission page to this effect. Accusations of this kind are not new to us. But as someone who has been closely associated with the administration and the programme office, I think your accusations hold no water. We at MICA pride ourselves on merit-based admissions. However, a very high CAT score offers no guarantee of admission. The Class of 2006 has students who have scored in excess of 99%-ile but have made it to the institute through the waitlist. I am forwarding the transcript of our posts to our Registrar. I am sure you will find in him a more credible voice of reason. Vinay Class of 2006 MICA

This thread is turning out into a vent your frustration and bash mica thread...dont you think we are taking this a little too far? sure we all are frustrated at the wait that lies in front of us but this is no way of venting your fury....and The mican i think u should agree with me that the filmy banter was far better than the loggerhead scenario present now...and i think u should let people have their little fun...afterall this is a communication school forum.......

hey proudnsitian!! its really unfortunate what happened 2 u.. but atleast give the mica institute 2 make its point as to what might have gone wrong in ur case.. if then also ur not satisfied and feel cheated, then i m entirely with u.. but not prior 2 that.. do tel me what their final take on the whole issue is.. personal opinion though.. and about the villain and all stuff, i apologise, wont spam the thread further..

please yaar....sucking up to Mica wont get you bumped from the waitlist into the admits list (and we all know how badly you wanna get in).........this the second very serious case listed on this thread......only God knows how many more there are.....peoples careers are at stake here.....I guess only the wearer knows where the shoe really bites...anyway I guess theres nothing wrong with demanding a lil transparecy.....infact like I said we should all be writing to the MICA admissions office asking for justification.... I am sorry if I have ruffled your feathers in a way but I guess you are acting a tad sycophantic....if you think otherwise please go ahead and ignore this message....
hhhhhhmmmmmmmppppphhhhhh...finally after ages of grapplin wid conflictin emotions, i got my call letter today....had got neither the mail all selected ppl got nor my met call letter.
ppl who got serious info, PUHLEEEEEEEZE help me wid info on the laptop n ways n means to get a study loan widout givin the 2 yr fee structure to d bank, since v got just d 1st yr structure.ne n every info is most welcome.
but good that it has started pouring...
