Really sad to see how one or two insane people from such prestigious colleges like NITIE & IIFT can shame their own college - in contrast with people like Igneous (IIFT) who constantly delivers their best @ PG & take the reputation of their colleges to new heights!!

At least we now know what we strongly suspected all along anyway : that every institute ( even with gems like Bingo and Prateek ) might go overboard in their ad blitz...just an eye opener for the "jagruk janta"

Takeaway : Future managers may do well to do a lil bit of verification themselves before being fooled by propaganda...and what better way to do it than geting it from their bschool friends here at PG!

Of course! Its as simple as that, and there have been numerous ocassions where Banned users hv been back with new ids, but if someone has even a lil bit of "self-respect", guess he shdnt be back. But then there are morons who dont hv brains to think that way.

Locking threads is NOT the solution pal....This is a public discussion forum....Yes, there have been nitwits who have dropped into this thread out of nowhere.....People impersonating....People faking identities and foul-mouthing another institute......BUT....at the end of the day, there also has been a fair bit, if not complete, clearing up of the air with regards to the high packets issue....True, like bingo also said, many had made it a mdi bashing thread....But, this also has helped to clarify to a lot of aspirants too.....To the extent possible, we only try to keep the discussion civil...But more than the mods, i blv the responsibility for the same lies with every single member....Its the junta here that make this forum what it is, rather than the mods or the admin !!

You are far too naive to think something like the WW I could have been resolved by diplomacy...
Coming back to the point this forum is not some place to worry bout political correctness but also to have some hard hitting discussions.This thread was necessary as lots of aspirans needed to have a clearer picture of what keeps on happening at the B Schools we intend to join,yes some of it got ugly but that dosent mean we should shy away from discussing some of the valid points raised here;look at the positive aspects many of the the aspirants like me have gotten a idea as to how CTC's are inflated yes we all knew they were but i have become far more wise to the quoted figures than before..
It made the MDI guys come out and specifically state their criteria and try to Justify it,I wont comment about what i think about it but with over 15000+ members on PG and remebbering this thread next time a B school comes out with their Placement Stats they will think twice about the Criteria they employ to calculate their salaries..
my god,today was one memorable day.came to office logged in to PG and saw this thread.opened it as i ve applied to MDI and am curious abt it naturally.dint realise that i was opening a can of worms.spent full day in reading the whole thread( my boss will kill me) but it has turned fruitful and i have had some learnings.
bingo i would like to thank u for the informative posts.they helpmed me a lot as i m looking at MDI seriously (in case i clear the gd/pi) and i accept that salary is one of the criterion with me.and congratulations on ur placement too.
prateek ur posts were quite balanced too.
we should always question things and practices which we do not understand or feel are unfair but at the same time it should done in a manner suitable to civilization exp considering the factor that we aspire to be (or in many cases are) future managers.
the ppl from nitie and iift would have had more credibility if they had come out openly and raised their queries.i dont have much idea abt iift but nitie is any day as good as mdi and i wonder y he was being so defensive.u should always be proud of ur institute, whatever be its ranking, since it gives u a major part of what u r and what u have(including a job).
i was also very curious regarding the 6 hours funda since i had read smthg of that sort on the mdi website.and i have been trying to find out abt salaries too.spoke to a senior of mine at nitie.thanks to thread now i have info abt mdi too.

sweety, with the slightest self respect as MavericK said, he wont be back.. put urself in his shoes. wud u be back? and stop dancin the hula arnd the whole issue. he has been banned for reasons as valid as they can be. he had the chance to clarify the source of those posts but he chose not to. stop postin short ones for the umpteenth time abt the same point that u have already made...
