Came back from MDI yesterday after depositing the registration fee and completeing the bank formalities for loan.Had a great experience ...and a suggestion for all those who are going in fro the loan:
In case you find that the clerks and other employees in the bank are just making you move around .... walk in straight into the manager's cabin...( thats what i did!) He is a true gentleman.. attended to my problems and got the work done in 15 minutes flat!Not just this ,he also asked me to walk straight to him if i ever faced a problem and handed me his phone no!
HE also claims to be a school chum of Dr.Preetam Singh.
So any doubts and questions about the loan process( amount,ineterest,margin etc...) fire in!I'll let you know all I've found out!

friends pl help me out. mdi has quoted 8.3 lakhs as there avg. I suppose that is ctc. I am a man with work ex. presently i get about 3 lakhs per annum ( hard cash, excluding it,loans pf ltc medical etc). my two year salary will be 6.5 + 6 for mdi. 20 year pay back will mean an EMI of 7 thousand add to it my increments will i be able to get a job from mdi with hard cash component of about 5 lakhs ( no taxes, or other benifits inluded) ????
Not to mention that i will have to relocate to a metro after mdi so the purchasing power diff. Guys help me out.
one more thing i am into manufacturing, how is mdi for that.
het plz ne1 can u list the results including the waiting list for pgpm program

1) Do we need to personally deposit the fees ..or some one on my behalf can also do it..
2) Do we need any documents..photocopy or originals...pls specify...
3) any thing else.. which i may regret not having brought..

You don't need to physically deposit the fees, courier or post will do. But write your name and CAT regn no behind the DD.
Piyush, once you send them the DD, you can call the office after a few days and check the status for yourself....I called em up on thursday and confirmed the receipt of the DD.... the office will be sending the confirmation soon.
There is no need to send any documents alongwith the DD....at most, you can send the xerox of the MDI letter, if you have it

I'm posting a bit late but my computer ws having sum problem.
Actually i wnt to no wat r the oppurtunities for an HR manager. Me really intereested in doing business in the future .but if i go for an MBA-HR degree, how will that help me in my business. Moreover, I'm actually intereested in Finance stream. So what shud i do? Please help.

From your id it appears you are with BHEL...
Now coming to your quation....If you do MBA from MDI after leaving the present job...surely it will be a financial loss for you in the present circumstances...as you have already calculated that to around 12.5 Lakhs. But look it from the perspective of adding value to your career profile, you may or may not get a job with hard cash component of 5 Lakh but surely with 3 - 4 years of working after that you will rise steeply...On the other hand if you continue with your present company (which I assume is BHEL), then the increment and rise will be slow..
Anyways, it's your decision and you have to make....

I had sent the DD on 12th, and frm the receipt it seems that it was mailed to me on 16th...but since its comin thru snail mail probably thas whats causing the delay.

I came to MDI to pay my DD but the officer was not there..So there was a lady who told us to go an offie there and pay it there..But I paid it there and there was no receipt or confirmation..So wanted to know If i need to confirm if the payment is done..becos all I did was write my name and Cat number behind the DD

:3. what configuration should i be lookin at..
:4. how are the comps available at lease..what do they cost.. and are those PCs or Laptops..

me called MDI yesterday to enquire abt the DD ( sent on 12th) and the guy at the operator told me tht all ppl had gone for some interviews and no one will be able to help me out for the next 2 days....
called again today but instead of operator got hold of the admission dept extn.. wht a relief...tht guy confirmed tht DD was recd.

Quite a valid question... although have answered most of it before also!! neways here u go -->
- Laptops will certainly be a better investment 😃
- Hostel is "very" safe... i havent used locks for last 8 months & my laptop is very safe there 😃
- Config depends on u!!! in any case even celeron will do
- dunno about leasing of pcs!!!
- Laptops are not necessary in classes - but yes an added advantage, specially during presentations!!!

Hi Guys,
I have been going through this thread and felt that a lot of freshers are having problems in evaluating their decision to join MDI on grounds of three aspects which are:
1. How genuine is the salary of 8.3 lacs quoted by MDI
2. Lot many people have multiple calls from institutes like MDI, SPJain, NITIE, FMS and offcourse IIMs( which you will have later)
3. How is MDI in Finance ( Faculty, Subject and Placements)
Taking each issue one by one, I think Prakash (Bingo) has already cleared most of doubts as far as salary of 8.3 lacs is concerned. To highlist one person's comment that he went through site of IIM I and figured that they had amazing placements. Dude, if you just happen to go through our placement report and that of IIM Indore, you will find they don't have any company except one i guess, which we didn't have on our campus for placement. Infact their average quoted is also almost equal to ours.
Second, I will talk about Finance at MDI, as pointed out by Mr. President that MDI is known for marketing and not that good for finance, i'll request him to come to MDI personally like he did at SPJain and then talk about it. Guys, frankly speaking our finance faculty rocks. We have around 14 core faculties in our finance and Economics department, which is a dream of most of the institutes and in this you have prof. like Sanjay Bakshi (www.sanjbak.com), Bappa, Bhusnurmath, TP Ghosh and Tarun Chaturvedi who are recognized across school and very well in the industry . so there should not be any glitch regarding finance faculty here. Second, here at MDI we have all finance course which you will get at the IIMs barring one that is on corporate restructuring but to cover that we have Behavioural Finance which is not taught at any B School in the country and at only selected B Schools abroad. So the last one left is Fiance Placements - I do agree we didn't have many I Banks coming here for recruitement but you need to discout two factors for it. First, we don't accept DIFFERNTAILS and second we are comparitively recent institute. By the time your batch passes out from this place you will see all big names here too.
Last left is about the various call which you people have. For this i will just say evaluate your options well on various grounds like:
1.Faculty
2.How institute has grown over the last 3 - 4 years
3.Industry Interaction
4.Options (Whether a insti is just good for operations, finance or its good for all so you just have all options)
5.Opportunites ( Live Projects, Student's Exchange, Good Summers and a lot softer ones)
6 Last n the least Placements (Offcourse i m kidding)
So on the basis of all these evaluate your choices and if possible go and visit the campuses if you can.
people who are coming with work Experience, don't worry you can easily switch from IT to Fincane and if you want to be in IT only then you can expect amazing laterals too. so don't worry and make your decisions well as this is one in a life decision
