first of all CONGRATS to all of u who have made it to BIMTECH
I am in the PGDBM 2005-07 batch and here is some info which can serve some purpose for u all

well u r in PGDBM course if i am rite. This is the flagship course of BIMTECH.
As far as classes are concerned they can even go upto 8 or 9pm on some week days.
Every course will be given just one off day during the week and it can be ne day in the week not necessary sunday or saturday.
U can keep ur private vehicle but the parking is a problem, by that i mean that u might not be allowed to park ur vehicles in the campus.( since this rule is flexible). Ur vehicles will be parked along side the boundary wall and a watchman will take care of those vehicles.
And believe me guys the course is hectic in the first 2 to 3 trimesters...so u will be occupied with lots of assignments and presentations. But it is enjoyable too.
I hope this piece of info will be helpful to all of u.

is this the figure for this year??for 2006,the average salary as given in the prospectus is 4L.

Well to be very frank....i have already posted one mail regarding the placement detail on the forum....Still for u the details are as under:-
Highest package:- 8 lacs ( foreign placement)
7.25lacs( indian placement)
Avg. package:- around 4 lacs
well BIMTECH is seeing 100% placement for the 5th consecutive year now and the placement scene is getting better every year. I am a member of the placement committee so u can rely on my data.
The infrastructure u already know so lets not talk abt it.
The faculty is good with some of the faculty as average. But since u r in PGDBM u get the best faculty as PGDBM is the flagship course. I am also in PGDBM batch 2005-07 and ur super senior.
Regarding the companies visiting the campus, here is the detail:-
INFOSYS, WIPRO, LG , SATYAM, DLF, A C NIELSON, IMRB, ICICI, SBI, RELIANCE, HCL, YAMAHA, RITU WEARS, RPG RETAIL ETC.
The institute is also focussing on giving more and more projects so as to increase the appicability of the concepts being taught.

Well Tanvi d gal who initiated d topic started in favor of val basd..n many other ppl started speakin mostly in favour of value based mkt..by givin egs like Big Bazar n how their 26thjan special discnt was HUGE success...+ nokia n other cos concentratin more 2wards lower end phones..n even planning 2 manfactur them over here in india 2 even reduce cost..blah blah..indians like val 4 money prods..et al..u knw d works..
during all dis many ppl includin me cudnt make any points...as everybody was thinkin in 1 directn..so we d leftouts(read lazy ppl) put up some pnts like 4 every Big bazar theres exists a Westside n Shoppers stop. plus all those GUCCI Armani etc..n nokia also sells communicator series in india..n of course high end cars comin 2 india...blah-blah...niche segment..inc disposalbe inc of yuppies...et. al
just 2 prove dat d higher val mkt does exist n is probably more profitable..at least near term..though with lesser volumes...
at d end most of us took a middle stance dat both mkts exist in india...n both have thieir own adv n disadv...
must say quite an easy topic..if u read just gen nwsppr + any 1 biz ppr..

well guys the hostel accomodation will be decided by the faculty and the idea behind tht is to bring people from different backgrounds, different cultural backgrounds and different regions, under one roof.
And since this is a residential program u guys will be required to stay in campus even if u have ur own residence in greater noida.

btw thnx 4 d detail info u gave...bout d hostel even i agree...it shud be random...so dat v can mix with new ppl..i really remember my hostel days durin BE .. alas dey r over 😞
but lookin fwd 2 those days again at BIMTECH!!! :D..+ dose sloggin out @ nites...here i guess it wud b day-n-nite slog!! 😞

With due regards to u Sir, I dont agree with the placement stats given by u becos as per the presentation given by BIMTECH it said:
PGDBM course:
Max. package- 13.00 lacs( Some company of Japan foreign placement)
8.00 lacs( Eicher domestic placement)
Avg. package 4.5 and they said that it will increase as many companies have revised there packages as in the case of INFY it is revising its package from 6.5 Lacs to around 7.2 Lacs as revision was due April'07.
If u take the overall placement scenario including PGDBIB the avg package might drop.

See Aparajita, PGDIB's 2005-2007 is the first bach (To the best of my knowledge). So no placement stats for 2004-2006 batch. And as per the presentation, if I remember good, they showed an average package of 4.00 Lacs and a max. of around 7.00 Lacs.
Others also plz help on this.

For my gd/pi experience go to Page 21 post #516. Essay part is very simple and is quite a general topic. Just go through the current affairs topics. Word limit was 250 words maximum. GD topic are also quite simpler but the problem is that there might be around 14-15 students in one group (as in my case), so you have to really be alert and find some space where u can speak. GD stategy is Do speak even if you dont know much abt the topic and make others to listen to your point. Then its done. Prepare for PI, its given a lot of weightage.
