y this thread is so dead.... there are lot of guys who r gona have their interview in the near future.... we all need some help frm the seniors .. fr gd/pi etc.. but no senior seems to be intrested... i know being in a b-school is very hectic but as compared to other b-school seniors on other threads ... bimtech seniors seems to be too busy..... i guess they can help all of us wid little bit of gyan

Here goes my interview experience:
I reached the centre at 8:55AM(10 mins late) but i dint miss much.Students were made to sit in the auditorium and there was a 5mins intro i believe,which i missed.Later they asked us to deposit our call letters at the desk.Next we were assigned numbers according to the bimtech call letter number and called for the gd.There were 10 people in my gd.We were made to sit in a conference hall with mikes and all,but there was no need of a mike,the atmosphere was very formal and there was a board room feel to it.The topic given was-'Generation-x is techno savy,have abundant talent,energy and creativity but do not approach relations respectfully'
It was a 20 min gd,everyone spoke,it was messy in b/n but you can call it a decent gd.After the gd we were made to write an essay of 250 words,the topic was-'are mbas more into money or prefer positions'it was something like this,dont remeber the exact words,it was a 10minute essay.
After the essay we went back to the auditorium and within 15 mins were called for the interview.The panelists were 2 people,i'l tell you the exact format

me-i started with name n my qualification and i was interrupted by p1
p1-what are Tand O losses
me-i was baffled,i asked him to be precise so he expanded it(they are transmission and overhead losses)i blabbered something,p2 interrupts.

me-blah blah
p2-did you take a trip to any place
me-blah blah
p2-what did you learn from it
me-told him some crap
p1-again stressing on my btech acads(he wanted to see my marksheets,i did,he was dissapointed,commented something)

p1-are you into games

p2-(pointing towards my dupatta)what are the other uses of chunni,how can anyone use them differently

this was my interview guys.I was nevvver made to finish my sentence,they kept on shooting qstns,i was there hardly for 10mins.All the people were asked this dupatta question and some of the interviews lasted for 3 mins,mine was longest among them:)Most of the people were quizzed about their work-x.I had a good gd but i have a bad feeling about pi.When i came out other people told me that they were asked similar questions and yes none of them were given time to finish their answers.I dont know how they are going to judge us like this.I went to the centre at 9 and i came back by 11:30,i was told that the results will be put up next week on the website.Thats it guys,i hope you find post this useful.All the best to everyone:

anyway congrats on ur gd.. and ur pi also seems to have gone well..
ur post will defintly wuld be useful... i am having my interview on 11th and one of my friend is having it on 10th... so will post the experiences...

had my gd/pi y'day in hyderabad........
reporting time was 8:45 and around 42 students turned up for gd/pi.as has been already said we were asked to deposit our call letters and then divided into 4 groups of 10 people each.
during the gd we were made to sit according to the tag number given to us,i was in the 3rd grp
the topic for my group was:"women are better at multi-tasking than men"
we were asked to think over the topic for 2 mins and then start the gd.
it was a very noisy gd,everybody got to speak but it appeared to be very chaotic.i entered into the gd 2 times.........tried to calm things down but othrs were too eager to put forward their views.
after the gd we were given a write-up,the topic was "the IT boom in india created an information society and not a knowledge society" we were given approx. 7 mins to write our views on this topic.
by this time the PI process for other grps had started(there were 2 panels with 2 members in each panel).......as per my information people were not asked too many questions on acads,the panel didn't even look at the certificates of many students.2 students with biotechnology background were grilled in 1 panel.people with electronics were asked about gsm,cdma,network topologies.....there was one guy with work ex who was asked only about his company(no acads again)
i have an electronics background but was not asked anything on acads.
there were 2 people on the PI panel for my interview(the same people were there during the gd).they kept on asking many questions at a time.........i kept my cool and answered them.my PI was very general...........
1.introduce urself
2.family background
3.why were u not aggressive in the gd(i was p'haps the one who was not making much noise,but did make my point 2 times in the gd),then one of the panelists said "you have to be aggressive to be a leader"(though i dont agree to it,but i dont know what to make out from that statement)
4.from where have u heard about bimtech
5.which specialization would u want to take up
6.what are ur hobbies
i talked about sports and quizzing and then i was asked some questions on sports,which i mostly answered correctly.........and that was it
i cant make out anything from this gd/pi process,my PI was for very less time for me to sell myself properly(infact most of the PI's were of very short duration)
my advise to all would be to do well in the gd(make the initial impact),try to talk to ur grp members prior to the gd and prevent the gd from turning into a fish market.............for the PI,just keep ur cool

priya,first of all congrats for ur mat score.........talking about retail management in bimtech,i feel a student of the college would be best suited to reply,but to give u a general idea.........i feel not too many colleges have a course in retail management and looking at the retail boom in india,it would be a good investment for the future if u opt for retail management as the industry would need good retail managers.

First of all I am extremely sorry guys for making you wait for all your queries, I still remember my days as a fresher on this thread, and now I am on the opposite side of the desk... kewl 😃 @neetu Khanna: Well, I would suggest you go in for the DECEMBER mat, as you would be able to join the course next year only, because BIMTECH considers only the december score card. I am pursuing PGDRMM only, so you have any queries related to the course just hit back. @mount_kdn83: Sorry dude for being late, if you have more queries just hit back now... @alterego*: Hmm dudette... so over with GD, phew..you really have been able to cover all the moments spend out there... from my study of your GD/PI seems to be pretty good...best of luck 😃 @nihilultra: Hmh dude, dont worry about the GD/PI sessions, I found your tactic to be really good...and its not necessary that they didn't like your GD, maybe you made a point somewhere in GD. Once you cross the border for g.noida just take the next slip road on left hand, you would see BIMTECH on your left hand side. If still doubtful just hit back....
