My interview was at nrsc, hyderabad. I went there at 9 am and had interview at 8 pm. Initially I was so scared to give the interview but the panel made me feel comfortable. They asked me about my project. I explained it on the white board. The chairman asked the questions from the project and also from the subjects related to it. My project is on the super vacuum condensor. As I am good in heat Transfer, I answered all the questions. Then another person asked me about the aerospace materials and I said that I don't know anything about those. Interviewer: guess Me: aluminium Interviewer: why Me: light and resistant to corrosion Interviewer: list out the materials which are not conventional Me: don't know Interviewer: what is the material that is commonly use? Me: steel Then he asked another person to continue Interviewer: types of springs Me: torsional, compression and leaf springs Interviewer: draw the spring with all the details Me: drawn Interviewer: define free and solid lengths Me: explained on the diagram Interviewer: what is spring index Me: explained Interviewer: range of spring index Me: 4 to 8 He asked another person to continue Interviewer : to machine 50 mm diameter hole with close tolerance, which machining progression will you use? Me: reaming Interviewer: list out another Me: I confused here, he said 50 mm but I thought it is of 5 mm. So, I said wire Edm. Interviewer: we can do it by conventional machining also. Me: since I thought 5 mm as hole diameter, I didn't tell drilling. I said broaching. Interviewer: nope Next Interviewer Interviewer: tell me the machine elements use for automobile suspension. Me: springs and leaf springs Interviewer : some more Me: don't know Interviewer : type of springs used in clocks Me: don't know End of the interview So, my dear friends, prepare project and associated subjects well.
