Of all the people who are done with their interviews, is there anyone who was NOT asked "What do you do at your work?" or similar question? I am still wondering why I was not asked this very important question.

I'll save you the boring details Q2: Tell us about what you do Me: In detail, about 10 min Q3: Discussed about essay 1, about 5-7 min Q4: So how are projects assigned? Me: Availability, we collaborate internally a lot Q5: How does a process improvement project comes to you? Me: depends on scenario (explain my last project circumstances) Q6: So you mentioned you are interested in Marketing as a subject. Can you tell us about your motivation and skills that you lack? Could everyone done with their interviews share the topics of the one word essay that they had got during the process. What happens if the applicant doesn't know the meaning of the word given to him?

I apologise for the trivial nature of this question, but can someone who has been through the interview process in the Hyderabad location explain the seating arrangement in the Interview room (is it in a conference room or like a more casual setting :P).
Interview Brief: Hyderabad, 14th February. Background: I am from health care sector, worked with a startup for 3 years and left my job few months back. 1. Tell us about yourself 2. Tell us about the startup that you worked with. (explained what they do in detail). This started a whole series of detailed questions on my project, my contribution etc. Lasted for about 10 minutes. 3. Why I chose the company to work with, motivation for joining them and any conflict that I had with a colleague and how I resolved it 4. Why I quit my job and what I had been doing in the past months. 5. Post PGP career plan and where I see myself working (with a company name and likely profile) 6. Plan B if I don't get into ISB and why ISB 7. Plan B if I get into ISB and don't get placed. 8. Any questions for them.. Overall it lasted for about 20 or 25 minutes. Like many people have said, it is more like a discussion of our essays than an interview. We can totally steer their questions as they are largely based on our answers. They are looking to get an idea of our real motivation to do mba, join ISB and how clear we are. I definitely feel that I could have done better. They put me at ease and I was so calm and straight in my answers. Hope for the best. All the best to you all :)
