I am looking at ISB and want to give GMAT and try getting into it. Below is my profile and since its very average. I am thinking of below steps to build . Please review and let me know my chances at ISB.

Workex - SAP SD/GTS/EM consultant for 3 years.
Extra Crr: Very less except a award at engg for best project. Minor activities and part of NSS. Active blogger review literature
Planning things to enhance my profile: Volunteer work and maybe a certification or two in work area.
Kindly share your views if this is good enough for ISB. Along with ISB I am looking at Canadian Bschools.

P.S. Wich are the good GMAT consulting centers. I see MBA crystal ball being mentioned a few times.
How many people in it are from product management background or have done something related to product management . Just wanted to have an estimate. Since the experience of people from it is good number of years I believe there would be many.

It was an overwhelming response and I didn't expect so many messages. I will try to answer each one individually asap. I will also compile some general tips for people looking at product management and entrepreneurship. As I cannot take mocks for a lot of people considering the time constraints, I would recommend GyanOne IntOne service or CrackVerbal (PS: I am not at all related to these companies but I am a first hand user who benefited from their services) for people looking at interview practice. I will give preference to people who cannot afford the services. However I will message you guys with some questions to prepare, you can start writing answers to those and start preparing.
Has anyone found out with the ISB adcom about Kolkata calls? I saw only few posts on 5th feb...any more invites yesterday or today ?
Had my interview yesterday.
Location: Delhi, 4:15pm, Panel 8
Panel: 2 alums (both co2011) + 1 ISB ELP committee director
One word essay was on 'Reward'. Interview was brief (20-25 mins max). No grilling or cross questioning. Panel found my profile interesting. Questions were as follows:
1) Why do you want to leave your business (even though its a profitable venture with annual sales of Rs.1.5 crore) and Why come to ISB?
2) How did you get into this business?
3) Take us through your professional journey so far
4) Take your own business as a case study. What will you do to improve the margins? What are the problems involved?
5) How did you get into quizzing (had mentioned it as my hobby)?
6) Do you know what consulting companies look for while hiring candidates? (had mentioned consulting as post-MBA goal)
7) How do you think your entrepreneurship experience will help you in your consulting career?
No guesstimations at all. No questions on my EY experience
Nevertheless, I have a bad feeling about the entire experience.

Hi everyone, any update on interview calls to be held in Mumbai?
It was a stress interview for me. No intro, why mba n why ISB kinda questions. They grilled me on my work experience and essay. I was the last guy interviewed in Delhi. There is no interview on 8th I suppose.
Anyone from Analytics background who got interviewed in Round 1 or in Round 2 ?
The wait is making me anxious. Anyone else from Hyderabad who is hopeful of getting a call, but is still waiting?
Panel 1 Delhi interviewed today - Two people, one lady and one senior guy , Tell us about yourself ? Why product management ? How did you decide that PM is the right thing for you, do you have enough exposure to decide, tell us what was your rationale behind this decision , why not explore finance or marketing or just work full time for social sector as you seem interested in that ? Have you applied to any other B schools, why not outside India did you apply ? What about other bschools in India ? Why ISB ? Are you introvert or extrovert , is being an introvert good or bad ? What were your most proudest moments ? Do you Anything to Ask from us (I dint have anything to ask 😞 )
