What is the response for early entry option(EEO)candidates who applied in cycle one.?
Is there a fixed weightage assigned to the interview/profile/essays/GMAT score for evaluating a candidate? If one has screwed up the interview a bit... are there still chances of making it?
Hi All,
I gave my interview at ISB on Nov 7th and I am not as confident as I would like to be. So I am hoping this forum could help me out with a profile evaluation.

Even a split second thought of admission status reflecting as "Not Admitted" is making me feel terrible. Had faced the rejection last year & I do not want to face it again !! Fingers Crossed 😕 😒 😐
@bhargav.nitc Brother, I am new to these discussions. I have loved reading the well thought out and exhaustively researched replies that you have patiently written. I am no ADCOM member, but I honestly believe that you will be a tremendous asset to the batch and I wish you all the best.
P.S. Sorry, I couldn't post this in reply to your post; some issue with my cell
Every hour seems to have more than a 1000 minutes now..
Hi all...I am new here and do not check this forum often.. I have received a call for 23rd Dec....and I am called to Hyderabad for the process....Is this R2 call? Will there be GD or only PI? Sorry if the questions sound stupid..
Santa (ADCOM) today will decide on who has been naughty and who has been nice. Courtesy a very tensed candidate via WhatsApp! Llewellyn DeSouza
Tips for Round 2 Applicants - Essay 2
Describe a (only one) defining moment in your personal / professional life when you had to make a risky decision, and explain what you did, why and the outcome?
or
Describe a (only one) situation in your personal / professional life when you had to interact with people from diverse backgrounds. How did it affect you and what did you learn? (word limit: 300 words)
The first essay measures your risk-taking ability hands down. Again it could be professionally or personally.
1. Again, start with a situation brief. Mention the challenge (and it should ideally give the adcome hint about the riskiness involved)
2. Next, get a little calculative. Risk is all about probabilities. How did you measure riskiness of each solution or each action? And finally which option/action did you zeroed down upon?
3. If you went ahead with THAT option, what were the risks involved? What could have been consequences?
4. Outcome could be good or bad. Either you achieved something or learnt something.
5. Mention what you learnt from the decision and what was the impact? Or mention what you learnt from the failure?
The second essay option measures your adaptability.
Diversity necessarily doesn't mean different people, but it could involve diverse culture, locations, ethnicity or even departments/functions.
1. Start with brief of the situation (What/When)
2. What were the challenges in this diverse setting? Mention them.
3. Now go ahead and describe YOUR approach to the diversity problem. Or if there was no problem mention how you approach diversity. Do you leverage it? Or avoid it?
4. Mention you learnings and mention in one-line how you look forward to diversity at business schools as a means to greater learning.
Well the good news is, on the 15th, either way, we will all have a good reason to get drunk 😛
Everyone off work tomorrow, i have news for you - Your Saturday has just gotten longer!
I have been getting personal msgs regarding placements, so thought lets bring it out in open , but before you read further, here are the disclaimers (this is purely on the basis of this year's ongoing placements, things have been different in the past and may vary slightly in coming years), first i will cover what kind of candidates have highest demand among recruiters, you have to be in either of these 5 categories or if you fall in multiple categories, then even better
In order of certainty :-
1) people with 2.5 to 5 yrs of workex (Lets refer to them as NOUVs) with past consultancy experience in a top tiered consulting firm
2) Nouvs - working on product/ innovations/ product management in top tier tech or reputed Ecommerce co. in tech roles (microsofts & flipkarts)
3) All age group tech guy with more than 3 yrs of work ex in either china or US in product management or top tech firms.
4) people who are in merit list (4th term gpa among top 10%) this is a mighty task - take my word for it, considering that there are more than 150 IITians here
5) Lady Nouvs - marketing/ tech background
.... ISB is a paradise for such roles ... for everyone else welcome to super competitive race... at the end every1 here is a winner, but the difference is who gets crème de la crème
Now coming to what's the current scenario : among international best jobs salaries have till now been around 1Cr ( which is li'l disappointing) but some great co. continue to be top recruiters. However, domestic cos. have been UNBELIEVABLE ... never seen before offers from the consultancies ,MS, FB,Apple, Google, HUL, Flipkart andTech startups ..not only are these companies hiring more, for some of them the pay is nearly 2-3 times last year's package, but this again is mostly limited to people falling in top 5 student segments mentioned earlier.
Placements have merely started and 100s of companies are lined up for the coming days , both domestic and some internationals, a strong start for sure....
This is as live as it gets 😃
Hello everyone.. I;m pretty new to PG... wanted some insight
Basically i got 640 (Q47 V31) for GMAT last month.. i am pretty disappointed with my score and i feel that i can definitely improve..
the gist of my prof is as follows:
Work Industry : Oil and Gas (L/EPCC Projects)
6years work ex in Project management of Gas processing Plants (typically each one is 1000crs)
Have been awarded Best performer for 3 consecutive years
Passed CFA Level 1

I had decided to retry GMAT and then apply with a better score. But however now i dont want to lose another year . What if i apply in r2 this year and if things dont workout. I will retry GMAT and then apply alter with a better score (hopefully)
Thank you 😃
Can I get some advice between IIMB EPGP and ISB PGP. Which one is better in terms of networking and recruitment?
I have an operations background (6 years at the start of the course), working in a family business, manufacturing of home appliances. Looking to get into consulting, specifically operational consultancy. Which program is better suited? (assuming I get into both!!)
It is my elder sister's wedding and here I am... on PG. I actively hate myself. #ImpatientMuch
what is the score required for admissions to ISB if one has 2 yrs of work-ex ?
I'm a R2 applicant.
Under Educational Details, there is a field called "Dates attended" that we need to fill. My question is what do we fill for class X and class XII board exams?
Guys I m not able to login into my portal.. Is that the case with everyone.
How does one go about the evaluation? I'm yet to submit the details of my evaluator. How much time does isb take to contact the evaluator? I'm planning for offline eval.
How many candidates wouldve been interviewed for R1 and what percentage of that number are we looking at to get the final admit offer?
