ISB 2017 Aspirants

Just finished my Skype interview, it lasted about 18 minutes. 2 senior panelists who mostly questioned on my domain and industry. The viability of this business in India. Career progression and strength questions.

No idea on how the interview went, I think I answered all the questions properly. 15th Dec will tell.

Anyone interviewed with the Panel 1 from Mumbai? Need some inputs.

Anyone who got interviewed by Panel 7 in Mumbai?

They say it isn't over till the Fat Lady Sings!

The irony is that the woman (I really don't know if she is fat) who answers the phone at ISB will be singing tomorrow at a Festive Completion (Antakshari) for the ISB day celebrations.

So is that the end of the road for the ppl who have not yet got invited for the interviews at ISB in R1?

Wish you all the best!!!

One word essay: what exactly is tested by this n examples please..

Any updates on Bangalore???

I had my skype interview on 12/2. Panel 2. Time: IST 16:00hrs. Lasted 15min 34sec. Exp: 15years. Purely Technical exp. He is my interview debrief. It was short and to the point - focused on my profile. It started with a casual "where are you located." Right after that, the 2 interviewers dived into questions. 1.      Your work profile spans over many different companies. Briefly walk us through your career and why so many jobs. 2.      Why ISB? Why leave U.S? 3.      There is plenty of Startup scene in the U.S. Why India? 4.      Tell us about your current venture. Are you planning to expand this in India? 5.      How will ISB help? What specifically will help you at ISB? Do you have clear information? 6.      Post MBA plans. 7.      Strengths. 8.      How did you use one of your strengths in current job. Give specific examples. 9.      What do you bring to ISB. And it ended right after I answered question 9. I was asked if there are any questions and I was still in a daze. Before, I could say anything one of the interviewers told me it was alright to not ask anything if I did enough research. . I was confident overall . Even though these questions are all expected, faltered a few times and forgot few answers that I had planned to mention.

@Llewellyn75 @MansieDewanConsulting  what if my plan A and plan B leads to different long term goals?

Having a role in power sector currently, with MBA i wanna enter manufacturing sector and use my experience there. Without MBA , i will diversify myself to solar and hydro field and then enter into a power consultancy.

Are all Kolkata invites out or there is still some hope ? Somebody please reply if you have any information.

I've not received an interview shortlist from ISB yet. Nor does the pgpapp.isb.edu say anything but:

"Your application has been verified and found complete. Further update on short-listing will be available approximately 5 to 7 days before your interview, if shortlisted, for the interview location you have chosen. Request you to bear with us, till we communicate further."

Anybody else facing the same?

Profile: 720, 2.8 years, Family Business, Re-applicant (1st GMAT - 670)

This is the most difficult Announcement to make... Rejection mails to ppl not shortlisted for the interviews are being sent out. Wish you all the best. Llewellyn DeSouza

For people still waiting - just check your application and at the end there is an update on Interview Status. Mine says 'Not Shortlisted'. I guess it is a ding then.

The final list will be announced on December 15th? I hope in case of rejection there will be a mail which would point out where you lacked as a candidate (for self correction and introspection). I hope the rejection would not be brusque and heart breaking like the rejections you face in school and colleges.

For those who have had an update to the application portal today, by that I mean not shortlisted for interviews, there is a link on top to request feedback on your app. Anyone interested, please use it!

Was at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium today watching India vs South Africa. Phone buzzed and got a ding from ISB. Gutted

For those who're not shortlisted, Can we re-apply in the Cycle 2?

Hi! Anybody with GMAT score 630 and below got a call for interview in R1?

For people who have been interviewed, will the final result be known on 15th December only or will people start getting rejection or admission emails in the days leading up to 15th? Also, should we expect an email from ISB to close out the process or will a lack of communication mean rejection? This wait is getting so hard to bear!
