ISB 2017 Aspirants

Hi, I am a re-applicant for ISB PGP. After logging in the application portal I don't find any thing specific as a " Re-Applicant's Essay". Also my essay 4 (optional) reads as below.

"Please use this space to explain any career breaks / provide any other information not covered elsewhere in the application that could significantly impact your candidature at ISB.
Note: It is not necessary to write this essay. Please use this space only if there is something really significant that you would like us to know"

There is nothing specified for re-applicants.

Is my application portal missing an essay question dedicated for re-applicants?Is this a technical problem?

Please clarify.

Hi, my question is regarding the 'why specific b school' , I have seen so many times people saying that you need to show in essays how you would use b school resources , faculty or any other projects to achieve your post mba goal, but then wont these be similar for everyone ... for example if someone is applying to ISB is it okay mentioning about ELPs , different clubs he is going to join.... how can I make this essay better.

Dear MBA Aspirants, If you're on this forum, you have an MBA on your mind. It is human to doubt and have fears. You've done great on your academics and great in your careers so far. You have faced challenges and come out triumphant. And you've done it all by yourself. Don't let self-recrimination pull you down now. With the underlying fear of rejection, I'd like to tell you that sometimes, despite everything being right with your profile and your application presentation, you may lose out to competition simply because the seats are too few and number of applications are too high. I promise you though, that perseverance is the key word here. It has happened in the past and it will keep happening in the future!

Here is a beautiful poetry that I have my children read when they are low on confidence:

                                         Our Deepest Fear

                                     By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking

So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, As children do.

We were born to make manifest The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,

We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we're liberated from our own fear,

Our presence automatically liberates others.

Good Luck & God Bless🌹

Hi ,

i have got my admission for class of 2017 through early entry option. I am currently working at deloitte. My classes will start on april 17th. Is it an issue if i quit my job by november. That will mean i will have a 4 month gap before joining.

Hi

Can some one help me with my profile evaluation for ISB?

Xth: 76%

XIIth: 89%

B.E(Mech): 63%

M.Tech(R&AC): 77%

GMAT: 640 (Q-42, V-35) written on 29th Sep, 2015

Total Work Exp: 4.5 Years

For past 3.5 Years I have been working as a Design Engineer and I have designed Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Equipment's which will be ultimately used by Indian Defense Forces. During the design stage i used to regularly interact with the clients majorly shipyards.

Also i was actively involved during the manufacturing and testing of the equipment's dealing with different vendors and fabricators.

I was planning to apply for R1 of the ISB but with the GMAT score i got, I am confused whether to go ahead with my application or rewrite my GMAT.

Kindly suggest. Thank you in advance.

I am interested to apply for round 2 of ISB. Although my score of schools and graduation varies from 65 to 80 - I want to know how much international work experience and research papers publications weigh on the overall profile. I have 3 years of experience in Application Development and I am from Tier 1 college.

Based on the above information please do suggest what GMAT Score should I target?

I am planning to apply to ISB in round 1. They have a question where they ask for "HR Manager's Details". However, I don't have any HR manager assigned to me. I have been working in US for last 9 years and have never had any HR manager assigned to me. I can fill in the reporting manager's details. What should I write in that field? Can anyone please help me?

I wish to apply in R1 and will be taking the GMAT soon. Is it necessary to select ISB in the list of 5 colleges where I want my GMAT score to be sent? While filling up my ISB application, can I just mention my GMAT score or does ISB necessarily ask for the GMAT score to be sent through GMAC?

I am not able to figure out where in application should we mention the completed MOOCs ?

Awards & Activities Section or Education Details ?

Could anyone help with this?

Dears,

I stumbled upon this information: "

  • Candidates have the option to retake the GMAT exam after a 16-day time period (versus the current 31-day retake period). This allows candidates the flexibility to retake the exam within a shorter period of time in order to accommodate their schedules, study habits, peak performance times, and/or school deadlines."                                                                             Can someone please confirm it. @ISB.Admissions                         Source : http://www.mba.com/india/the-gmat-blog-hub/the-official-gmat-blog/2015/june/july-19-new-gmat-exam-fe...
