Hi everyone !!! I had my interview on 6th at Kolkata. Do they intimate waitlisted or those who are not selected ?
No interview call till now. Should i assume that i will not be getting a call?? Or is it that due to non-availability of slots, mumbai applicants may be called at hyderabad for the interview? Any insights? I sent a mail to isb but no response.
How many applications does ISB typically receive in a year? I heard the number is around 25-30K, is it true? And the ratio of selection is 12 applicants, 5 interview invites and 1 selection, how authentic is the data?
Any calls for recently "completed" ppl?
Fresh Interview Experience of one of our candidates interviewed recently:
Interview Date: 13th Nov.
One word before the interview: Sanity
Interview length: 35- 40 mins
Brief Profile: Family business for 4 years, then working with a debt restructuring company for 6 months. Total 5 years of work ex.
Interviewers’ Profile: 2 interviewers – one was an Alum the other a professor (possibly)
Qn: You have to agree with me that the demonetization was done with a good intent but poor execution. If you were Narendra Modi, what would you do differently?
Ans: Longer time to exchange notes, portable ATMs at rural sites, instant opening of new bank accounts etc.
Followup Qn: So, if we demote you from PM Modi to SBI Branch manager, what would you tell your employees?
Ans: spoke about giving a pep talk to employees about their late working hours and efforts as being a service to the nation.
Note: I was continuously countered on all my answers on demonetization for 10 minutes
Qn: Why MBA/Why ISB/Why now? – all 3 were asked together
Ans: Gave the answer about benefits of MBA/ benefits of ISB (diversity, peer group, 1 year-prog etc). Seemed satisfied.
Followup Qn: Which other schools have you applied to this year?
Ans: Told them none (which is in fact true), since I already have an admit from last year in a Singapore university.
Qn: How would you value an e-commerce company like Flipkart?
Ans: gave him the EV/GMV metric to be used with comparable companies Followup
Qn: He agreed, then said that all the founders of Flipkart/Snapdeal etc have publicly declared that they would not focus on GMV, so give me another approach.
Ans: Explained about brand perception, market share etc and how these companies are not profitable and their valuations are a figure which vary widely backed with not so concrete data.
Basically, I was being counter-questioned on EACH AND EVERY answer I gave. It was like a stress interview. The interviewer told me after the interview not to take it personally since they were purposely going in-depth/countering me on all my answers to see my resilience and depth of knowledge.

I guess the status has been changed to completed for everyone. Or is there someone still remaining? Just curious. Mine changed 2 days back.

Hi Folks,
We all know that over 50 % aspire to become a consultant post MBA and thats why ISB is a perfect fit for them(given the opportunities) . Therefore, whoever has the same post MBA goal or comes from a consulting background and has completed his/her interview stage- request you to share your interview debriefs.
I am expecting some guest estimates and lot of cross questioning iin interview, if someone aspire to becomes a consultant.
I called up admissions office. They told me that due to unavailability of slots, all the students couldn't be interviewed and some students will receive a call by nov end.
Got interview invite for 20th.
How do they tell you if your application is rejected? Do they send a mail it your status changes from completed yo rejected?
Any hope for Delhi applicants still left?
