ISB 2017 Aspirants

My profile is as below:

10th - 86% , 12th - 87.75% , B.Com (Hons) - 71%

I am a Chartered Accountant and currently working with KPMG in Direct Taxation (for expatriates). By March 2017, my work ex with KPMG will be 45 months as a senior exec.

I have been awarded scholarships by CBSE for 4 years. I am also a classical dancer with exposure at national and international levels.

I am planning to give GMAT by July, just wanted to know what are my chances of being selected at ISB? 

It'll be really helpful if you could let me know what GMAT score should I aim for?

Can someone please advice about the campus visit. What is the right time for it. Also does one need to apply for the upcoming batch before going for campus visit?

I checked the campus visit portal, the form asks questions regarding wrk exp, reapplicant or not, and resume...Can I not visit even if I am not applying for the upcoming batch?

My experience during filling of application would be - 42 months...

Worked in L&T for a couple of years in manufacturing and Supply chain...It was a green field company..so was crucial in development of the organization

Worked in a Educational startup for 6 months (like a service org..)

Completed a 6 months full time residential program on business analytics offered by IBM - Topper of the batch - cgpa- 9.5

Currently working as a data scientist in a GLOBAL AUTO MAJOR

Co-curricular/extra-curriculars:

Quiz,debate,drama - School level

Winner of proficiency prizes - School level

Won prizes in Paper presentation/conferences (more than 10) - college level

Sports/NCC (intra-school level)

Won many more competitions.....

My experience during filling of application would be - 42 months...

I am currently preparing for GMAT and planning to take it in a month`s time. Hitting 670 in gmat prep mocks and would like to know what must be the bare minimum score should i secure to be atleast safe in this part of the application.

I know my profile is average at best ,do I have any chance of getting into ISB ,if yes then what score would I need .I am planning to give the GRE .

Of these 3 years I worked for one year in India, then 1+ years in Turkey and currently working in Thailand as a process manager (Overall around 2 years of international experience).

GMAT score - 680 (50/31)

Planning to retake but still I need to know as to where I stand as of now.

My experience goes like this :

Accenture( 18months ) as Analyst;

Company B  (3months) as Analyst;

My own startup which could not get registered (7 months);

Company  C(6 months and moving) as Manager deals in Healthcare;

So, I had multiple switches , experiences in working at startups (not sure if my own startup would be considered as i did'nt registered it) .Will this act as a hurdle for me while applying ?

I am planning to take a GMAT in the next 2 months and hoping to get a descent score.What exactly shall be my strategy  to crack ISB next year,given my background ? Do I need a great GMAT score or need to do some online course to improve my profile?How good are the chances anyways ? I would rather expect an honest reply.

a.) Do i have a chance in ISB?

b.) What GMAT score must i aim for?

Dropped out of a Mater's course and have a drop of a year as such in between.(2014-15)

Work ex:

1. Family business( Textiles manufacturing) : Sales : 12 months :2013-14

2. Groupon India : Marketing Consultant : 18 months. 2015- present

Extra curriculars:

1. Won a Marketing all India competition at SRCC

wherein 100 colleges competed .

2. Organized fests in college and was President of Students' Union in school.

My questions are:

1. How many years of work ex can be safe to apply to ISB in my case?

2. What is a safe GMAT Score for me?

3. Will my dropping out of the Master's course affect my chances?

4. Will the sales work ex be a hindrance?

P.S.: I am expecting to convert few NEW IIMs this time. 

Should I take up them or Wait and apply to ISB will depend on the above answers and thats these are very important.

I am planning to apply for ISB for 2017 batch, But do not have a GMAT score as of now.

Can someone evaluate my profile and tell me the odds of my selection. If yes, when should I take GMAT??

I am planning to apply for ISB in the coming cycle. Please evaluate my profile: B.E. Civil Engineering from PEC, Chandigarh (2013 passout). CGPA 8.1/10 12th CBSE 79.8%. 10th CBSE. 90.8% Experience in Big Data Analytics (almost 3 yrs): 1) Business Analyst, Novartis Healthcare, Hyderabad (May'15 till present). 2) Decision Scientist, Mu Sigma, Bangalore (Aug'13 - Apr'15) Here I provided Analytics support to Walmart for 6 month and to Microsoft (Bing.com) for 1.5 yr. Also during last 6 months in Mu Sigma, I was leading a team of 6 Analysts working for BingAds. Expecting a score of 700 in GMAT.

I am applying for ISB 2017 batch.

What i have - 10th-90%, 12th - 84%, BE Mech (7.15 with an international project).

Work Ex till 31.03.2017 - 6 yrs 9 months :

4 years in Plant & machinery dept of Punj Lloyd Ltd (a public ltd EPC co.).

1.8 years as Head of Dep of similar dept. in SPML Infra Ltd. (another public ltd. EPC)  

5 months and counting - working as Head - Operations in Irontread.com, an ecommerce technology startup firm that caters to the plant & machinery domain.

GMAT- 650 (AWA- 5 , IR-92)

I need to know if it is worth a shot at the program with the profile above. Kindly evaluate my profile and give me a realistic picture.

Will a 650 GMAT be good enough ?

Academics: 10th (CBSE) -92.8%, 12th (CBSE)-82.6%

Dual Degree (BTech & MTech) in Mech. Engg from IIT Chennai CGPA 7.59/10. Graduation year 2011.

Work-ex: Deputy Manager with 5.5 years work-ex (by March 17)  in NTPC Ltd. (Maintenance of Boiler and Auxilaries)

Extra curricular: Finalist of NYC Next Idea Global Business plan competition in 2011, participated in few Global B-plan competitions, co-founder of a failed startup  (www.violetrays.in), winner in essay and Art competitions at School level.
