Interview location- Hyderabad, slot - 21st Feb, 2.45PM. Panel - 5, 3people not sure if they are alums, they didn't tell, I didn't ask. Don't remember their names, let's say P1,P2,P3. P1- Are you from Hyderabad? Are you the only child? Tell me the top 2 most important achievements of your Toastmasters club during your term as VPPR P2- Everybody says this Toastmasters is so fancy but tell me what are its negatives, critically evaluate the program P1- Tell me about what you wrote in your first essay, you told that it is your biggest achievement. Told him. Asked for more and more explanation. P3- (Picked from what I said only) Asked me something business terminology related, I know the answers but I couldn't recollect, which I know is very bad. P1- Little more grilling about essay-1 P3 asked me something in the middle while I was explaining but I am not sure if I got carried away or whether P1 cut me with another question making me get carried away. P3- Again coming back to your Toastmasters thing..... ( I got so carried away answering this question that I don't remember what his question exactly was but I hope he asked about my learnings in Toastmasters?) Told him an incident and challenge I faced and what I learnt from it. All- Any questions for us? - No thanks. No other regular questions at all. Interviews have an advantage of surprise element. They take us by surprise no matter how much we prepare. So, as long as you are aware of what's written in the application, it's better to stay calm and pray that you will be surprised in a pleasant way. :) My feeling just after exiting the room was a positive one but as I retrospect I don't have a clue about what they decided about me. I am only scared whether I got carried away too much while answering(a severe problem I knew I had even before going to the interview room). However I performed or whatever the result might be, I will remain proud that I have been extremely confident and didn't feel nervous at all even after going through a lot of turmoil till yesterday. :) I feel compelled to appreciate the interview panel for making the entire experience so stress free and beautiful. A clichéd but important suggestion to people who are yet to attend their interviews is, just stay relaxed and try not to get bogged down. It is going to be a stress free and nice experience :) All the best! :)

Male Engineer, 3.5 years work ex
X - 95 CBSE XII- 90 Dual- 80 (Tier 1 college) GMAT: 720
Extra acads: One of the founding members of some society at uni and president of some society
Slot - 14th Feb, 3 alums
Q1: Can you explain to us about your company?
Q2: What exactly is your current role and your lessons from this?
Concluded that it was a front end role, leading a small team.
Q3: You want to move into consulting, so can you solve this case for us?
Was able to solve part of the case, panel member stopped it towards the end as I missed information he had provided.
Q4: What is the next role in your current organization and how long will it take you to reach there?
Q5: What if not MBA? Have you applied to any other colleges?
Here's where I messed it up, I guess. Mentioned that it's the correct time to go for an MBA as the industry is slacking and I have saturated in my current role. Haven't applied to any other colleges this year, but will be applying next year.
Q6: Any questions for us?
Asked about a new facility being established in the college. Got a reply that they don't know much about it, but I can email it to the admissions team for more details. Should probably have come up with a better question.
Overall experience: Messed the interview quite a bit, was told by the interviewer at one point that they weren't offering me a buy-in, don't know what to make of that.
Hope this helps! It would also be great to hear your opinion about the interview.

It's for those of you need to come to Mohali for interviews in the coming 6-7 days. People who are coming from Delhi should avoid the main GT Road to come from Delhi to Chandigarh. Take the road via Saharanpur/Roorkee or somewhat similar route to avoid getting stuck in the ongoing agitation.
guys need your feedback My Profile gmat 680 ,mech engg with 2.5 yrs ex in manufacturing firm in managerial role .average acads and decent extra curriculars .no interview call .is it because of less yrs of work ex???

Profile- 2.5 years in IT products (Oracle), Good extracurricular activities , GMAT 750 , Post MBA - Product management
One word essay (50-100 words) was on "monster" .
3 panel members (alumni) , one of them was stern, silent and observing. Interview lasted for around 20-25 min
1. Tell me about your work? Give me an example where u get multiple perspectives of the product as you said earlier.? Your dream company and your long term goals? Y not work for a start-up as a product manager?
2. How do you think your company products will be relevant to future
3. Why MBA and why now
4. You follow Indian startup world closely, which blogs do you read? what are the recent happenings (too vague question I feel)
5. Tell me about your work in NGO , which team do you lead? what does it do? How big is it ?
6. Your biggest achievement in your work life or extra curriculars (multiple questions on the same)
7. Give me an example of conflict situation when you lead the teams
8. Any questions for us
Fingers crossed :-| . I didn't give convincing answers for Q7 , and to some extent Q3 . I tried to keep the answers short, initially, but they weren't being inquisitive, so I had to elaborate them all by myself (sometimes providing unnecessary details). Overall 60:40 chance that they were impressed by my interview
Hello all, I am new to this forum and just done with my interview in Hyderabad on 20th Feb 12:15 slot, panel 2. I describe my profile as IT + Social sector. Looking at some posts, it seems social sector is pretty much competitive this time. Is it true?
Anyone from Delhi whose traveling to Mohali for an interview on 26th Feb? Please message.
Hello fellow people! I am an EEO applicant who has filled Delhi as a preferred location for the interview. I wish to know whether the Delhi interviews of EEO are over or yet to happen? Any body done/ have interview in Delhi, or have any info, please do comment on this! thanks in advance 😃
anyone who listed Mohali as preferred campus and was asked reasons during the interview?
Interview experience: 22nd Feb, 11;50am slot, Mohali campus.
The essay word was "Damage" and the word limit was 50-100. I wrote 170-180 words on that and was screwed on that part. My bad.
They moved on to my work profile and all that. I thought I am least likely to encounter someone having the same background. And to my utter surprise, the interviewer (an alum) had the same background - Territory Service Manager in Maruti Suzuki. We discussed a bit about my work and he said I was lucky that I was honest about my job profile and the work that I did and then he revealed his own background.
Interviewer: What do you plan to do post-ISB.
I: I want to go into Consulting.
Interviewer: Do you know what a consultant does? You will have to make excel sheets and do boring jobs day in and day out even as a consultant for the first few years. McKinsey/BCG is very tough to get into.
I: yes I know blah blah...
He then grilled me on why I was not wearing a tie. I said it's a bit hot outside. Grilled again on this. Why have you kept your suit buttoned? The buttons should have been open. And from then on it was a total stress interview.
I now have mixed feelings. I just hope whatever happens, happens for the best. Waiting for 5th March now.
Interested 2 know if people out here were given short form names of technologies or names of any person. like general awareness stuffs.
Hi guys, anyone from Finance background and done with interview or waiting to get over with? Could u guys shed some light as how much in depth they can go (technical)? How was ur experience?
Can people who were rejected after the interview in the previous years let us know what feedback ISB gave after the rejection? This might help others understand on what basis they will be evaluated.
NOTE: I understand they might reject based on so many other reasons such as profile, etc. but I want to know on what reasons specific to the interview they would reject.
Hello all, my interview debrief-
Location: Bangalore, Date: 20th Feb, Time: 12:15 pm, 3 panelists.......
They started of with the work experience as in what i did at Philips in the sales and marketing team, what were the initiatives taken by me and all. Next they moved to my field as a whole asking me differences between how did i approach enterprise customers and how did i approach SMB customers since i had an experience in non metro markets as well. This was followed by a guesstimate question on estimating the number of SMB businesses in south India and their lighting potential and my view on what should be the difference in the incentive structures for an enterprise and for an SMB business sales team. Followed by this i was asked about my extra curricular activities. The interview concluded with a question on what i had mentioned in my 3rd essay regarding the courses i will be interested to take up at ISB.
Overall a very good experience. I was able to answer all the questions they asked me. Hoping that they were fully convinced with the answers.
All the best guys!!
This is the end of the journey. I like some of you was very hopeful and have been refreshing gmail for last 10-12 days with an expectation of receiving an interview call. I can't guarantee that I will make it thru if I get a chance but at least I would have tried. Sometimes I think I will retake my GMAT and improve it 690 to 740-750 level but my concern is if GMAT score is masked while calling for interview I am not going to get a call next time as well. For next R1 we are left with 7 months which I don't think is enough to make any significant change in profile.People say that as MBA is a one time affair we should not compromise with brand but every failure costs one more year. Should we settle to a substandard if time is worth saving?? I want to go with a positive vibe but I am unable to get rid of the confusions. I would like to ask if anyone feels the same and if it is so then how he or she is working out. Will ISB provide the reasons what they rejected my application for so that I can work on accordingly???
Puys... Need some feedback related to my interview.
Location:Bangalore , 20th Feb
I have a Family Business(F.B) and have been working in IT for 4 years with a long term plan of joining FB after MBA. Interviewer asked if family business was the plan then why IT. I gave her a answer but she did not seem convinced. At this point of time I got slightly nervous. For the remaining part of the interview, I replied confidently to every question asked, like Why MBA and how it will help, but still my expressions and tone reflected slight nervousness.
The Lady Interviewer kept grilling me from which I get a feeling that I did not do good in the interview.
The good part is however that Interviewers were still inquisitive .
At the end they asked questions like "Which campus would you prefer, Mohali or Hyderabad" and the usual" DO you have any questions for us". After finishing these two, the lady who was grilling even asked " how I rated ethics in Business?"
Overall I would have come across slightly nervous throughout the interview and I dont feel I did very good. Would I be right if I draw out positives from last set of questions or they would still ask these questions even if they did not like me.
PS - Sorry for the long post guys, would really appreciate if you guys can give your views on this. Thanks
khabar nahi ki tere kaabil bhi hun main ai ISB, tu magar mera shauq dekh mera intezaar dekh ! Happy waiting ! and good luck for the interviews puys !
