@shab86 see, u got work ex and a post graduation also right. so u have a good chance to make it to IIM I and K also. i know a friend with 3 years work ex and acads similar to yours (he had no post graduation but) who got into IIM I with a 98.67 percentile previous year

@akshatkhanna I don't have a post grad degree, just the B.Tech.The work ex i have is not in a company but in research institutes as RA (research assistant) or as PhD student...That's the main reason i am unsure !!
@shab86 But still bro. considering the fact that my acquaintance got through without a PG means that a 99%+ can get u a call from IIM I and K also. But first step - getting that 99+ percentile.

See, you have to think yourself and understand what you want. I doubt these colleges will give you anything more than 4-5 Lacs and I am being optimist here..so you decide if the investment is worth it.
@akriti-akii I second billuisback..Please don't bother about these colleges, especially now where the market sentiment is not good...You will end up getting even less than 4 lakhs in most of the cases.
Personally I maintain,if you are not passionate about MBA but just want to earn good bucks,then the MNC software companies are your best bet .PERIOD
Otherwise a MS outside india (Top 50 colleges only)will give you far more dividends than these business schools.

All those worrying about the weightage given to prior academics by the IIM's, well one of my faculty at TIME had a very novel answer when i asked him about this.
He said (i re-quote) - Beta kya tum 100 percentile laane ka try kar sakte ho?
Me- try karne mein kya hai sir.
Sir - Fir bas! Matter solve ho gaya! Ab laao 100 percentile 😛 :D

Well on a serious note...if anyone manages to get anything above 99.7 percentile or so, koi na koi IIM se zaroor call aata. So concentrate on getting that instead of brooding over past acads :)
@PGN My bro did MS in Finance from Stanford University. It paid handsomely but not more than MBA from IIM-A. The later one is still more attractive and economic.

My brother did his MS from USC,California.(He also got through COLUMBIA,Upenn)..
Currently he is earning an amount which gives an in hand savings of 2.5 to 3 lakhs...Only a topper or say a phodu in engineering lingo gets that kind of job even from IIM A.
So we can agree to disagree here I guess....I would still maintain even a Btech from HKUST would give you more in hand savings compared to an MBA from IIMs'.
If you just want to earn money then MS is YOUR best bet.

@RabbaCatKaraade Dude to be blunt score a 100 percentiler in CAT and then again no one wold be able to sureshot say whether you will get calls from the IIMS BLACKI..
Just study now and get a good percentile..An FMS or XLRI are all tier 1 colleges.

@PGN Completey agree with you! Additionally i have seen great packages from IIMs too. And more importantly, good jobs.
