hey salman here really confused about what to do further jus appeared cmat exam with only 2 months of preparation that to lately decided to do m.b.a guys help plz

@kinji.at.pg1 Thanks for your reply. The main reason for me doing an MBA is to get into a pharma company with a focus of product handling which includes marketing, finance for cost-effective reasons etc. The thing is the psychology of a research student when compared to the students in MBA or in those companies are widely different. There are different kind of pressures, deadlines etc to manage which i can only learn by practice from those management institutes. Though, i completely agree with you that for opening up ones own venture you don't require a management degree But i need to understand the industry first, see how it functions, generate enough contacts and then collaborate to open up my own venture, which i guys would be way out in future as it would take time for all of this

Trust me, it took some months to decide this course of action!! The main reason i don't want to take GMAT is that the course fees would be prohibitively high and my savings cover can only cover Indian institutes. Btw, can you suggest other kind of course apart from MBA which you mentioned?

Once again, thanks !!
@akshatkhanna Yeah, i just noticed the eligibility info in IIM Shillong
@ShuvamJoy Thanks a lot for such detailed info !!
An open question:

I have a research experience of some 3.5 years now including my time as a RA in TIFR, JNCASR and my 1.5 years as a PhD student in Germany (even now, i am finishing up some pending work which would get me a publication), So can i call this a work experience in my applications? (Btw, I got scholarships throughout)
@AmbikaV Thanku for all your guidance
I am happy to inform yu guys that I have found a job the very next day I wrote to yu
I am now working as Trainee Embedded Engineer. It was my subject in Electronics Eng. I could not have asked for more. Its a small company : Rudraksha and its walkable from home.
For your previous question: Why did I leave Hexaware? and Why MBA?
I was given an inhouse project and each time I was to give a demo, in the name of minor enhancement major changes would be made. Although the project got completed, for over a month, it wqs dragged in this "enhancement". Plus in software there are more managers and less workers. I understood that I should not be at the place where the work starts from. So, I wanted to be a manager. My manager was a B.Com graduate with an MBA. And I got inspired by the way all he would do is dictate terms. Plus he had the nack to manage, which I believe is more important in a job than your coding skills. Its how you show that you are working, that counts
Thats y MBA
Thanku so much guys

thanx @ahivarn and @banu2312

Ok what I can see is your Focus is towards pharma domain only. I really doubt if you can get the such a focused MBA in India B School. Normally, the general Management and then specialization you would want to opt as per the electives offered. Let me know if you some specific B school in mind, then I will also get updated.

All the best.
@kinji.at.pg1 Well, the MBA doesn't have to be focused towards pharma industry. In fact i wouldn't want such a highly specialised degree. What i want is a general MBA, but end up with a job in a pharma giant or a research based consultancy firm (since i have heard they do have pharma companies as their clients). I hope placements in good institutes would have such companies?? Can you suggest some institutes based on it ? Though, i have a strange feeling that my research experience might actually be a downside when compared with guys with work-ex in IT/Other Sectors!!!!!!
