@akash12191 While several IIMs have their own methods of coming up with shortlists, like IIMB gave 15% weightage to grad marks in '12, IIMC giving more importance to X and XII scores, it is better to higher you grad marks in the remaining semesters and try and keep atleast 70 as your degree percentage.

Assuming he is in his sixth sem now, 70% ya 7.0 banaane ke liye baaki Teen sem mein 9.0 laana padega!!!

Help me out in a small issue
my name is ankur i am an engineering graduate in electrical with 2.5 years of experience in power sector 2010 batch passout now i wish to go for mba in power management for that i have to prepare for CAT2013 but uptill i hadnt done any aptitute di anything my base ground is zero at present from where i had to start pls guide me and how i had to do.
Today only i resigned from my company.

@ankurdwivedi Get hold of a good book on Quant, DI, LR and English. Arun Sharma preferably. Get your basics cleared on each sections of the books. See if any coaching centres IMS/TIME/CL etc are offering a 3/6 months crash course for CAT. Take that course. Apply for the test series in any one or two of these centres. Give equal time on clearing the fundamentals alongwith practicing for each section.

Hey guys 😃 i'm ira currently pursuing my final year computer engineering under pune university. I have tried for campus placements bt dint found any job coz every time i got rejected in d hr intrvw... I want 2 get a job as soon as possible and pursue an MBA later..
I joined PG as i liked d way it provides d solution 4 everything n every1 here is INSANELY DIFFERENT . :D
I hope i'll find out d solution of my problems here... :)

Hi Ira,

Lot of people do not find jobs in campus placement. I'll rather say it's an opportunity to search and find jobs outside campus. Do try other companies outside. See for off-campus jobs, referral drives for IT companies. Also, keep other options of career open and sit for exams like banking, LIC, SSC CGL etc. Touch every possible path which can lead you to a job. Once you are through with this, then target MBA.

Which books are you following for VA? Get one or two good books on VA. Arun Sharma, preferably. And take two test series from any of the coaching institutions available from TIME/CL/IMS etc. The secret to improvement for VA lies in how much you analyse your exams and learn from the past mistakes. After you are done with an exam, analyse how the faculties approach the right way to solve a problem.

I am more into management..less interested in technical stuff..so am planning to give CAT 2013 .I dont know where to start or what to start with..please help me :)

Welcome to PG!.. Get hold of some material such as TIME/CL or usual books and start your prep. You may also check out the classroom programmes the institutes offer. Before you start.. take any mock cat and assess your performance. This will help you pin point areas of improvement.

I have scored 257 in cmat feb and air is 2163.

in 10th 91%
in 12th 82%
final year BE ec so far 67%
can anyone inform about greatlakes , wellingkar , kirloskar and pumba institutes.
also if i get in pgdm and mms both which one should i prefer
