I'm Ashish Pai, aged 20, from Mumbai. I've stumbled onto this unique forum for all MBA aspirants through quite a co-incidence.
I was participating in the Marketing of my college cultural festival 'Symphony', and happened to come into contact with PG executives through a senior of mine. To tell the truth, I logged on immediately and created an account, but couldn't be bothered to go through the content.
Just about a week ago, I hardened my resolve to appear for CAT and other MBA exams ( about which I haven't thought much, CAT is the only AIM )

Why on PG?
Because there isn't any other place to be! PG, simply put, is the best of 'em all!
Specifically looking for what on PG?
Career guidance, mentors to help guide me through this maze, comrades attempting similar entrance exams to share the experience with and hopefully friends who I'll come to respect and care for.
Aim for next one year?
To raise my Avg %age to at least 70+ ( It's hovering at 68% right now ) and to participate in more extra-curriculars. To get into better shape 
To prepare a base for intensive CAT preps later on in the year.

I wanted to pursue MBA from UK but with wide-ranging feedback from friends and relatives i am scared to go to Uk and finally looking for S P Jain,Dubai(GMBA). I am atteding GMAT coaching at Manhattan Review. I have 2 years work Exp. Hw is SP Jain Dubai? Is tht the right option? or do we have any other better B'schools where i can get into for this September Intake?I am looking for 1 year MBA programme.

I have just given my final year exams (Physics(H) frm Miranda house, DU) and m waiting for my final yr results.
Through campus placements i got a traineeship offer frm essar. the training is of 18 mnths in their various sectors ,then a job in any one of their sectors.
I also gave cat 09 ( a pathetic percentile of 85 :-() n got admission in fms,bhu
I want to give cat 10. I wanted to know what would b best for preparation, job or admission in bhu.
I am totally confused, added to my woes is my parents' opposition to go to essar which involves complete relocation.
please guide.

Hey I am not an expert but still I have come to know that the most important thing in CAT prep is the Mocks.
So do join any All India MOCK series. TIME will start from 29thJune for Non -TIME students. This way u can work and give mocks on weekends. Plus dedicate 1-2 hours for brushing up your concepts as u already have given CAT.
The internship might just be a boon in disguise (read some work-ex

Honestly speaking your dilemma is worth giving a thought from all of us here & i would request all seniors here to throw some light over your matter. As far as i can evaluate from your case is that you should go ahead with Essar for 18 months n keep preparing in between. Its always better to have some work-ex before you hit into any big B-school. Besides this will raise your profile coz you would get a chance to work across various divisions in Essar & its worth going for. BHU is a credited college but considering what you have in your hand, its not the place for you to be. You deserve a better college than that.
Think this way> Miranda House + Phy(H) + 18 or more work ex with Essar + some life experiences (coz you relocate n get to see life on your feet) should convert into a personality more charming than typical MBA grads straight out of Bschool without any work or life ex.
Give it a thought . There could be some more discussions over this . Frame your own opinion . But for me you should give this a try & try to land into a bigger Bschool .

Hi everyone,
This is Harsh from Delhi. I compeleted my undergrad from DU-Bcom(H) in 2008 and have just appeared for the CA Final exams in May 2010 (result awaited in July 15). I have done my articleship (3 years) with a very reputed tax advisory firm in the field of International and corporate tax advisory.
Now, I am in a dilemna regarding the following:
1. That should post the result (expecting it to be positive :)), should I do MBA or not and continue to work as a CA
2. If I decide to do MBA - should I work for for sometime and then pursue it or start rightaway
3. Should I do it from India or abroad
My apologies guys, I know that the queries are quite confusing and this is not a typical situation! But I am sure that some of you guys must have gone thru the same dilemna at some point in time!
Any suggestions / advice please ? Thanks.

I am kinda dubious regarding admission in MAT colleges. I had given my MAT exam in Dec 2009 and scored 656. I got a call from Amity University, Alliance Business School, MS Ramaiah College but I could not appear for further selection processes due to some of my personal issues.
Now I have applied in Amity University and want to apply in Alliance Business School too. But I don't know about the education quality of these colleges and placements, also which is the better one. Somebody help me plzzzz as I am so tensed. :-(
