Guys as per my sources the results for May 2013(core exams) will be declared by 10th August 2013. I had a very bad exam full of mistakes. So I am not expecting anything. For those who had taken a good exam; All the best.

I have cleared June 13 ACET. And now I am planning to appear for CT1, CT3. But I am not sure whether I should appear for CT7. Also, I would like to know how tough is the paper & do i need extra study material for the same. I have started with the prep. from Aug itself.

Hello every1!..Is there any limit on the number of times for which one can appear in the core technical exams? Also can anyone appear only for one exam at a time or is it compulsory one has to sit for at least 3 or more exams??
I plan to give ACET on 7th dec 2013. I have got admission in btech(MCE) at DTU(formerly DCE) this year. Do you think trying to be an actuary alongside doing b tech is a good idea? Actually I was thinking, since my branch is Mathematics and Computing Engg., there will be 1 or 2 subjects common to both and will help me in preparing for actuarial exams, am i write in thinking so? This question has been asked lot of time. But I never received a satisfactory answer.
Can anyone please mention in detail how to register for UK Actuary particularly stressing on method of payment?
I am looking for this particular answer for a quite a while now. But nobody is clear. if someone who is already registered as a student member (not just for CT1) there can lay down the process it will be helpful for many of us.
In the meantime if i myself found relevant info I will post it here.
i had asked how to enroll in UK actuary. Well here's the detailed asnwer
First you go to the student tab and then to "become a student" section. Once you click on it you will be directed to a page where there will be lot of bla bla stuffs mentioned above Eligibilty criteria. Since it is almost guaranteed that once you are enrolled with IAI you will qualify in the eligibility criteria of UK actuary.
Now you will find an "application form for all applicants". This is all you need to understand Actuary admissions. You need to download that. Also since you belong to India you need to download "application form with reduced rate". Both of these are available in the top right of the screen.
Now remember that there is no online form filling and hard copy had to be posted to them. You will require two referee who belong to a high position in an organization. Qualified actuary is not required as referee. You can do away with a Bank Manager. Right now the reduce rate is 199 pounds which comes to some 19000 odd rupees. Now the most important part is PAYMENT METHOD. You can pay by DD. But that has to be from some Overseas Branch. So unless you have any uncle or unty living in UK, this option is out. The next option is Bank Transfer. All the details for bank transfer is given in the "all applicant form". If you use this avail this option you have to use reference which should include your title. I am not very clear here. For more clarity you should go to the student handbook given in the top right of the page. You have to fax the finance team the reference number generated after making the payment also. This option seems to difficult for me.
Now the best option is to provide your credit card details. They will automatically clear off the money. You need to provide the 16 digit number, validity dates and the CVV number. There is another thing called issue number. I don't know what it is as my credit card do no have it. Also google is confused about issue number of credit card as well. They are not asking for transaction password, so there must be some way they will be able to by pass that.
You need to send to them all of your qualification documents (Class X, Class XII, Grad, Post Grad etc). Surprisingly they have not asked for ID proof. Probably the referee will fit in that role. But still I think it is better to send your Voter ID to prove your citizenship or your passport. Along with these documents you need to post both the application forms i.e reduced rate and application form for all applicants.
The entire process will take around 6 weeks to get completed. So it is a long process. I will register soon through credit card to avail exemptions which are available in UK only. If anyone else is going to register let me know. We can discuss over phn. I hope this will help others who are willing to register to UK. If anyone have better idea or I have skipped something please post that as well.

I am new to this Actuaries area and dont know much about the exam process although I read about the profile and all from their website.
My question is to those who can help me with the exam pattern.
1) There are 4 series - CT SA ST CA etc. Do i have to give papers for all of those ?
2) There are multiple internal parts of a series 1-8 in CT . Do I have to give all at one go and if not how should I choose papers and how it would help me build up my profile?
3) Will I would be eligible for placements after giving few tests only eg. givin CT-2 and CT-4 ?
4) From the past posts here , I assume that their study material is of utmost importance. How to get those ?
