Now i understand that chances are very dull for the extention of my stay at the guest house. Can you tell me that whether one week stay at B'lore to find a decent flat on rent basis is sufficient or not. I am worried if i donot get a flat in a week. Does Infy pay for the Joining bonus i.e. my first joining travel expenditure to B'lore.

Finding a place in Bangalore is not at all difficult. Finding a good place is quite difficult. In Infosys, we have a discussion forum just like PG. its called Bulletin Board. there are many sections in BB, and one of them is classfieds. you can find many ppl here advertising for a house on rent. you can also meet many guys here who are looking for a roomie. so all you got to do is get in touch and pay a visit to the house.
And just like any other shopping, u will always find a better house once you settle into one.

i know of my friends who have done some course in a certain institute in Pune. they told me that the course was really helpful and the certificate given by the institue has quite a lot of value. im not able to recollect the name though. sorry about that.
it also has some kind of an entrance test to select the candidates they admitted.
you can probably ask around for that.

a good bet is to look for PG accomodations. Quite a lot exist in K'mangala and JP Nagar areas. I stayed in one for a month before moving into a rented house myself.

But u can avail the loan against salary (1 month) at 0 interest rate.

hmm, Feb is a really long time. have you contacted the HR guys? if not, please do that. dont hesitate in calling up the Bangalore corporate office, they must be able to give you some information, or atleast guide you to a place where your query can be answered. do keep us informed with the progress

Yes you can call on the number provided on the website.. Hr people normally are very friendly so you can talk to them freely but remember to be polite.

There isnt a formal procedure for extending the joining date. having said that its not impossible. you have to fake a treatment or come up with an excuse like sisters marriage. rememeber, you will be cross checked and if they have strong proof that you have faked it, then they can send you back home.
considering the current economic situation, there is very little chance that you will be called for training immediatly after your completion. there are enough backlogs right now that they will wish to clear first.

I have given a joining on 5th Jan 09. After that once I finalizes the accommodation in B'lore i will have to bring my family to B'lore. Since Infy says that they cannot grant any leave in probation period for shifting. How Come? Or else how will I shift my family if I donot get the the leave for shifting..

& supposed to join in 2008. I haven't yet recieved the joining date that means i wouldn't be joining in 2008. I didn't look for other jobs as i was preparing for CAT but i performed worse( compared to last year's 95.55%ile). Earlier freshers helpline no. was replying that all the recruits would be recruited till december but now they havew started saying that it may exend to march. Given the scenario of It industry in general i don't think i will make it to another job and infy seems to be playing with us. Its depressing as 16000 out of 18000 recruits have already been inducted and remaining 2000 are left wait for so long. I understand that they are "Ethical" and will surely give us joining but with 7 months of gap in the CV already i have left all the hopes from infy.
What should o do now?

Hi,
I can understand the frustration that you might be going through. However, please don't get disheartened. Infy will certainly call you one day, but then you will have to get Information from the numbers given by Bharat. Moreover, if the call is getting extended, join some other company. Even a BPO will do if you are not selected in a company of your choice. And when Infy gives a call leave BPO and join it. Make your steps fast.
I have seen recently a friend of my friend who didn't had a job for nearly more than 1 year got a job and within two months was sent to Indonesia. Now he is happy. But he didn't sit at home waiting for everything to go fine. So, you will have to pave a way for yourself. Keep on searching for jobs. Subscribe to some Freshers group for newsletters.
