HI Sharad,

Sorry for the delay. The time Infy takes to send offers or declaring results varies. I got my result within 4 days. I attended walk-in on 11th and 12th March 2006 at JAIPUR. I rcvd an email intimating my selection at around 6pm on 16th March 2006 and I joined on 27th March 2006.

They do send the rejection letters too.

I think I have answered your queries. If you have more then feel free to put them forward.

Take care

well it depends.
see the 17th april batch is of non CS students.
so if u attended the walkin and u happened to be a non CS student then u wld have been posted imediatly.
on the other hand if u happened to be a CS student them maybe u wld have to wait.
so it depends on a lot of things actually.
i got ma mail 3 days after i attended the intv, just as palak told me.
so hope u get urs soon

I didnt got bold marked lines. SORRY!!!.

As per 9 months gap policy is concerned, yes Infosys is very strict. If you give test and at later stage they find out that you gave the test within 9 months period, they may black list you. Same is true for other companies too that follow this criterion.

Hi everybody!
the query is regarding the pattern of infy test.I have heard that it has changed and instead of the regular 10 puzzles... they r giving some 40-50 aptitude questions.but this pattern is only for freshers , for workex guys its the old 10 puzzles pattern..

Guys who ve undergone the selection process in april , kindly enlighten.....

hey folks..or let me rephrase..the so called potential infosys joinies

i Was with infosys for close to 2 years......a great company to start your career with...coming to the topic of discussion ...will try to maintain the coherence as much as i can...
I was going thru various discussions...let me give some info..over a period of time offshor contribution of infosys earnings have been increasing considerably..now what does that imply..well..it implies..that onsite opportunities arent there as they used to be earlier...
Now lets take take the various MNC's that have come and established themselves in India..no doubts starting stalaries are high as compared to our good old infy..but the matter of the fact is at the end of the day all of us are working for salaries...right..how much do i take home is always the perennial question in my mind......so a few thpousands here and there might sound good initially but ultimately in the long ...everything evens out..but yes..INFOSYS is a great place to start your career with if you are a fresher...and off the records..want to get into MBA.......and all these hikes and percentages the matter of the fact is there are various factors that determines the hikes...so...all th best to all the foks who do plan to join INFY...
Take care
bless you guys....

Couldn't really have said better ! Simply hitting the nail on it's head. 😃

Beyond doubt, Infosys is one of the best places to start one's career. The amount of learning you do and the time you invest here will definitely help you in many ways. But, the disclaimer being Priorities. From my experience of around 2 years, the biggest thing I learnt was about setting Priorities. Those who entered the Organisation with Money as Priority, did not stay for long. Those who have entered with the main aim as learning, flourished and did enter the 'earning' frame with all the learning they had. From my observation, the blind rule is 'Earning follows Learning'. 😃 If not at Infosys, at some other place, but there is no easy way out.
And coming to the most sought after 'Onsite', doofus was spot on ! With the entire work getting done at Offshore development centres to cut the costs, the Onsite opportunities have come down drastically. And dont get surprised if you see that the person who went Onsite once is the person who always goes Onsite. ;)
For all those aspiring to work with any Indian company, my advise would be this: Have Learning as your priority for around 2 years of your career and Earning follows. Its all about time.

well buddy
infy is pretty stict with not providing the right information, and if they find out, its not just blacklisting but will lead to termination.
just few days back ma batchmate got terminated cause he said his percentage was 66 but his actual percentage was 65.7.
infy told him straight that since he has provided false information he needs to leave.
so i feel its better that u get it confirmed if u can attend the training before u actually join rather that go there and find out that u have to leave.
...i m thro...finally...after a wait of 2 months i got the offer letter... but they say bout joinin they ll inform later...seniors plz let me know what courses should i do...i hv -ve knowledge bout programmin language...

Hey congratts!!
I got this good news from some of my good frens(my juniors basically!!) .
They got selected in TCS but were nt able to sit in Infy campus . Now that they got chance in off campus..they were really happy.
Basically ..just relax..they will teach u everything here..only course duration would be short..so if u want to realx a little bit..Do RDBMS and little bit of OOP fundas.
That would suffice.

Well said seniors. We will try to follow the GOLDEN RULES given by you.

hey dude from which university u are.can u please find out what is the minimum requirement in %age for university of rajasthan graduates.im having 64.2 from university of rajasthan.kindly check it fast.

heya peeps
feels nice to be witnessing so much action in the infy thread.
well i am in mysore right now, and my intention of posting in this thread is that some one somewhere asked if their percentage is enuf for getting selected into infy.
well i wld like to add that infy is very serious ba the percentages.
this is ma 5 day in mysore campus, and i have 77% in both 10th and 12th and 66.42 % in ma engineering, they dont specify what the cutoff is but the cutoff various for different universities.
i was very nervous maself when i heard the termination part from the HR.
but hope it shld be fibe for me, as another guy from the same university as mine has 63.6 in engineering, and HR said that is fine
but just yesterday one dude got terminated cause his percentage is 65.6 and his university cutoff is 66.
also since we were offcampus recruits there is a relaxation of 2% in ur marks.
but all said and done, if infy is serious ba anything then it is the marks.
regards

Hey am frm raj univ....they dont have any relaxation for Rajashtan Univ.. and even if they might consider some exceptional cases , I had some terminations in my training batch during the course of training ..when the verification was going on.
So u clarify with the HR..before u go through the whole process..as they don't have specified norms that for off campus they take ur aggregate 2% less.

for offcampus recruitments the cutoff is relaxed by 2 percentage.
but then again if they terminate u or not depends on a lot of factors.
one of ma friends has an aggregate of 63.7 but the cutoff was 65, so instead of comin here and then being thrown out, he called up the HR and told them the situation, and asked them if it was ok for him to come down to mysore, they said ok.
so it wld be better to call them up once u get the offer letter rather than the other way around.
and as far as the training, it has just started.
i know its gonna be tough,
also the evaluation system has changed from our batch onwards.
lets see what happens
