Congratulations on being placed in Infy. When is ur joining and where. As you have not mentioned I assume that you would be placed at Infy Mysore Development Centre for the training period.
The Mysore DC is really a cool campus with 5 star rated facilities. I dont want to dishearten you, but the training schedule here at Infy is really very very difficult to cope with. The training here is considered to be equivalent to a BS degree in Computers from a US university. So you can understand how the training would be like.
About the courses that you should undergo, I would suggest that you go through your computer fundamentals- like architecture, hardware, programming fundamentals, operating systems, RDBMS, etc. C++ and C would really help if you know them beforehand.
I assume that this is your last semester and your exams might be fast approaching. So you wont have time to cover all these. Thus, dont panic and just brush up the topics marked in bolds- they would definitely help in initial part of training.
Congratulations once again. Get ready to enjoy the life at Infy specially if you get Mysore.

Hi I got selected in infosys june-2005 & got call letter waiting for joining date.Can Any body tell me which should books they prefered in traing at maisoor.so we can prepare ourself.topic is already given by palak thanks for that but can anyone suggest any books which they prefer.
Now have my infy test on 2nd april and interview on the next day provided I get shortlisted. Now should I tell them in the interview that I prepared for CAT/mba? I'm a 2005 passout and currently at a teaching job.

hey buddy it certainly is no the mother of all stupid queries...........u can ceratinly tell them u were preparing for cat........at least thats what i told......and then go on to tell them that inspite of doin well in cat u were not selected cause u didnt have work ex............so u wanna work in infy for a minumum of 3 years upon which if u find that career growth i infy is good u wld stick else u wld leave to do mba.....ma panelists looked impressed.........hope they were for real. all the best for ur test regards bharath

Hey palak , stop scaring people about infy training :satisfie: ... dudes n dudettes ... enjoi ur kife in ur colleges ..till u come out of it .... no need to study all the crap that has been mentioned ... cuz newaze u are gonna learn all these after coming here ... cuz the training is a lil hectic but u guys will enjoi it ... my batch full of non com science people .. nobody had come prepared for the training ... the training is designed in such a way that wnybody will get adjusted to it ... there are 2 kinda traings long cycle for non CS and short cycle for CS ... so in Long cycle they will teach u thouroughly everything ... I know my batchmates hu dint know basic truthtables ...and scored an A in all the modules ... so be chilll n njoi ur college daze ... so that u dont repent after coming here ... go to barista CCD whatever just chillout life is going to b even better here ... @rasputin : about the interview as bharath has mentioned his interview went well inspite of saying he prepared for CAT ... but y take chances ... u said u are nto teaching business y not mention that ...take them the way u want to ... instead of they digging into unexplored areas ... if u have learnt ne s/w langs tell them u were preparing urself for the software industry ... my opinion ... stay away from CAT in ur interview ... cuz they normally dont like people hu are planning to leave the company :satisfie: (AS in if u took CAT this year .. they ll assume u mite b taking it next year which i think u will .. and if u get a good call obviously u will quit n go to ur dream b-skool ... cuz people sitting there are B skoolers they know what they have bin thru ... cuz i know lot of people hu have taken interview of freshers .. ) @nishit : su kaam atlo magajmaari ... amdavad ma farva matey jagya nathi kem ?? ... cuz i think u can njoi ur life now when u are outta the job thing now that u know that ull join infy enjoi this honeymoon period ....

chilllaaaxxx ... u have finished ur interview ... u r thru ... chances of rejjection after interview are very few .... until n unless u dont know to speak english ... n they wont reject an infy exam topper ... ... chill u will get thru ... u can expect a call netime ... i got the call within three days of my interview and was aske dto report within a week ... so pack ur bags get ready ... all the best

All the best for your test!!! It is upto you whether you want to tell about CAT/MBA or not. If you tell so then you must have a strong backup for what you say and convince the interviewer. If you cant do so then it is better not to say so.

sure dude......why do u think u r interupting......thats y pg is....i mean not for inturepting......but for helping dudes well......when they asked me that question.......i told them what is goin to be ma posting cause they didnt give us a ppt...........next i asked them what is the process like...........in the sense , i wanted to know for how long i wld be trained etc..........pretty straight forward questions........peeps did tell me to learn ba infy but i didnt bother also me had those two questions as genuine, not just asked cause they gave me an opening, also me asked ba career growth in infy......and they did explain ba the infy's growing brand image..........thats it for those questions do ask me if u have not understood anything from what i have written and plz dont think that i am doin u a favour regards

hi palak... well thx for all the help uv been to all of us...iv also got placed in infy and wil have my training in mysore(cant wait to experience heaven...;-))...khair i am a mech engg and have this phobia to programming and stuff..but it cud be cos we did only c prog n that too in our 1st sem...n again the teachers we had, made the subject all the more hell for us...but managed to clear it wid decent marks actually...uv suggested a few subjects but i wil be thankful if u cud give names of a few books which mite help us get a hang of those subjects... BTW im in my final yr in blor...ne clues as to wen the joining cud be...?? havent heard nethn from the company aftr the initial offer letter...ne id on which i can mai them n ask??.. cheers

I cant answer this to the point. Infosys takes time to call you for Written test and interviews as the number of application they rcv is in bulk. I had also applied in May last year but didnt got call. Thanks to TIMESJOBS that they conducted walk-in at Jaipur and I got selected.
I had applied to infosys as a fresher on 18th Mar.But I have not recvd any intimation from their side about intvw/written test details.Approx. how much time does the processing of application take????
dude....me applied to infy test on january and got a call for the feb 26th test. i didnt attend that though and was looking at ma mba interview during that time........but later i got a walkin in my place and thus attended it......so maybe infy conducts tests once in 2 months..........the last one was in feb and the one previous to that was in december the same day snap test was held........so i say u wld have another test this month ....all the best dude
hey infy places a ban over re attending the test for 9 months... they make u fill the form n thats y they hv ur details.. if u sit..again..u wil be blk listed n nt considered for i/w
