Hi Ppl .. Juss wanted you freshers to know (or rather warn) about a tiny fact .. When you do join Infy you may get into Network Admin via 2 steams IMS (Infrastructure Management) & CCD ..CCD is the internal IT Services Dept of Infy while IMS takes care of clientele .. & this alloaction of stream is totally random & irrevocable .. so for some of you the whole DREAM of becoming a software engineer might get dashed there & then 😞 .In my batch they have allocated 25 ppl each in these 2 streams .. I being one of the unfortunate ones .. so if you do have a choice & dont wanna leave it to chance weather you get into software development or network admin .. I'd Suggest DONT CHOOSE INFY .. cya .. & best of luck ..

cool it inter ... i can understand ur anger ... hey underin i dont think u wud be in CCD n IMS for long it mite be for a short time they wont train u in the software (Mainframes , Open systems, J2EE , .NET ) n just put u into CCD ... they do change the s/w streams say if u are trained in OS they mit eput u into .Net but they are not that stupid to put u into CCD ...
@ankit : have patience ... just go through other recent posts in the thread u ll find lot of people hu got calls after almost 3-4 months ... some people like me 😃 😃 😃 got calls within three days ... nobody except the HR can tell u when u ll get callls ... but if u havent done really bad in ur interview u will get a call ...
@sundar ...infy trains mechanical engineers but only in the s/w they require n not in cad cam or whatever mech s/w u can talk about

Now the second part, weather I'd get into Software Development in the future or not.The answer is No( OR Very little Chance).Reason: We are being trained on Networking , Database Admin , Solaris , Unix Admin etc. while the same guys with whom I gave my generic exam day before yesterday are going to study C , Java & Mainframes.& Just to stress the point again, Grading is the last thing they consider while allocating grades.My pal who has got D grade in 3 subjects has got J2EE(arguably the best stream).
& guys just realize this that I am not misguiding anybody, just speaking from my personal experience. Anyone , in need of further proof is welcome to contact me.

i totally agree with you as per the allocation procedure. its totally random .As per my batch goes the guys who were in CCD were shifted to J2EE bcoz of some problem may you 2 be shifted in j2ee. \ also pardon inter as he does not know what he is speaking. here luck is more important than the grades itself. and thanx for calling J2EE the best stream may god bless you and see you in a j2ee batch

... use kya maloom once u get into infy u are a futball ... ... its all about change n learnability n all the possible crap HR speaks ... newaze ... believe me u wont be in the same stream for long max one year ... mark my words ... u ll come back to s/w ... all the best cheers

i too had applied in infy around 1.5 months back at [email protected] but yet to receive any mail from them for aptitude test.can any of the junta working in infy check my details with the hr people.i am feeling very nervous.

Anybody who took the test at kol on 26th february? I took it on 26th Feb at kol. Cleared the aptitude test with ease..however my interview did not go that well. Messed up one question totally..felt very embarassed. Do they look at the interview alone for shortlisting or they look at the overall performance viz, acads,aptitude test and interview. Coz I feel I have done really well in the aptitude test. My acads are as follows:

12th-75
Engg.(Mech)- 74

don't worry. it will take 2 to 3 months for some people. if u r not selected u will get rejection letters also. so keep hope, if the interview was good, u'll surely get selected.

I have not got any communication from them as yet, please can anyone tell me when can i expect to get the appointment letter, what is their procedure, when do they ask to join, as i was thinking of doing mainframe training before joining, so i was asking when they may give joining date, do they call anywhere before joining, like tcs does, for medical/certificates checking, or do they directly call for joining? Please i will be highly obliged if my queries are answered! Also, are there any technologies with which i should be well versed with before joining, or will i learn in their training? Please help!
