I am a 2011 pass out from NIT Rourkela with a B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering. I have offers from two software firms:- infosys and polaris. could you please help me out in choosing the right one?
I have plans of doing MBA in near future. So i want to work in a firm where i could get time for MBA preparation. So please guide accordingly.
p.s. polaris offers a ctc of 4.25 lacs/annum where as infy is offering 3.25. But i have been hearing stuffs like " polaris being a small company will give a lot more projects and so u will hardly get any time for MBA preparation"
i may not help u much with comparsion , as i have never worked with polaris
but will make only one pt clear....
getting a project and hell lot of work do not depend on the company, but the type of project u get in the company
so be wary that u might get a similar one in Infy too
but the 4.5 months at Infy is some thing which can be reallly cherished for a long time..

My joining is on 12th Sept. Is there any arrival time limit before joining, will they allot me hostel room if i reach mysore infy campus on 10th evening???
U will be permitted only on 11th of sep after 8 AM inside campus.

Hello puys... My joining date in Infy is 25th July... I completed my Internship(Training) in Mysore during the last semester of my B.TECH. Nw m left with 2 weeks Soft Skills Training b4 i gt posted. I have one doubt in my mind n m vry nervous abt it... My academics are B.TECH- 74%, 12th - 79% and 10th- 61.2%. My 10th % is calculated as 61.2% by using Top 5 subjects excluding the 6th language subject which v call as Optional subject then(Acc to CBSE Norms). But if i add dt 6th subject ,my % goes dwn to 59% which is below INFY's eligibility criteria. They still have to verify my documents on 25th July. m afraid dt dey may add marks of my optional subject too (as dey asked to enter the total marks including the optional subject in the form during placement but i didnt added dt n used d total of 5 subjects which is accepted everywhere)...In dt case i'll b in trouble.. .. I mailed Infy regarding dis but i gt no reply frm their side... So if any1 have any idea regarding dis,do reply me...

i am not sure if i'll get any time to prepare for cat between the hectic training of infy..i am confused..should i try to get my money back or shoud i stick to the test series and get the test center changed(Rs 600 for that more) i am very confused as to what to do now..is there any other alternative...pls reply soon

Hry bro, even m in INFOSYS... n i gt my joining on 25th july. I have also joined the AIMCATs ((getting screwed up )..anyways) . yr the only alternative is dt v cn hve our center shift n in my ID card it is written dat it will cost Rs400... no refund,nthng else... dey have many centers across india n at ol places where v'll b posted by INFY...I guess dts is... Al d best

I would advise you to introspect for a moment and determine for yourself whether you are well-versed with the computer subjects. If you are, then I believe training at infy won't be an issue for you. In such a scenario,you can get your test-center changed to mysore. It's not far from the campus. Take an informed and wise decision.;)

I had applied for PAN card but although I have been allotted the PAN and I have received the PAN allotted to me through an SMS but the problem is I have not received the PAN card because the courier company has not delivered it yet. No problem...just keep the PAN no with u..that would suffice...
