u have to send this amt by urself u can avail the loan only after u reach iim thereafter u can apply for the loan and even get back these 57k u wll recieve instructions as to how to apply for loan shortly frm the students committee
one small request to u all see the previous posts b4 asking such qs i thk it has already been answered..
Initial 57K you'll have to shell out from your pocket. The money will be given back to you once you avail the loan after coming to the institute. You'll soon hear from the student council regarding the formalities for the loan.
Some people have received the admission letter through email. Check the mentorship forum

Quite similiarI am waitlisted at 6th position. Converted IIM K. Person said to me too its quite a good no to get a convert. moreover I am from Indore. My 21 yrs of life I spent there. In a big time dilemma 😞
I am W/L in IIM I. Called IIM I office but the person told me to call tomorrow as office was already closed when i called... Can anybody clarify whether emails are also being sent to w/l candidates??

My friend called up IIM-I and what she got from the guy was that they put people on the waitlist if they cross their "cut-off". I wonder what is the criteria for that cut-off. Last yr they waitlisted around 450 candidates and only 45 moved. I guess the situation this year is more or less the same.
And the person who took the call also remarked that "somebody has already called to find out the status of this WL number, so we wouldn't tell you again"

I called IIM I office today. I got my W/L status as 258..... he he he... Anyways, When I enquired how many confirmed calls are given this year, they declined to comment.... Told me they were not "Authorised" to say anything about it...

Another question: Is a laptop really necessary? I have my desktop and am planning to take it with me wherever I land up (Have a confirmed call from MDI so am definitely going to land up somewhere)

laptops are good because 1) u can be mobile when doing group work (which means the majority of all your assignments) 2) u will be unaffected by power issues (u will need a UPS for a desktop i guess)
ive always tried not to keep any expectations before the results are out so that any good news is just a bonus. but then thats personal opinion. it is also not very prudent to decide your outcome going by just the previous year's figures though.

The waitlist movement depends on number of final calls and ofcourse common calls. Last two years the movement has been very unpredictable. It moved till about 40 last year and to 170 year before that. So whatever chances i say it would be a speculation as good as anybody else. Admission office has not confirmed the number of final calls.
The laptops are not that necessary. You can do without it but having one definitely helps a lot because at times we carry them to class rooms and for group assignment all over the hostel.
nebody in BANGALORE got the offer letter from Indore??? I did'nt get it....seems like only people residing in north have got it.
People have started getting it today. Just wait for some time. There is no need to panic right away.
