There is a column of Managerial Position in current employment. How is it defined? Do I need to be in a position that says I am a manager, or I can write that even if am managing a team.

I joined DRDO as a Scientist B on 4th Dec, 2008.Since then I have been working in the field of Control & Guidance systems for Autonomous underwater vehicles. My work is more of a classified type. So here I will explain as much as I am allowed to.

5. Implemented embedded coding on some latest miniaturized boards like LPC 1768.

As I was working in an R&D organization, I have a little scope to manage people. I am leading a team of 2 Technical officers presently.  I had the privilege to interact with many foreign technicians at the time of product installation and training sessions.

I have two main queries:

1. Is my GMAT score competitive enough to apply for ISB or IIMs? Or it is better to re-take the GMAT.

2. Can my confidential work become a problem while I prepare my application? (This is a more specific question- If any DRDO people who applied for Bschool, please respond).

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Praveen Kumar V

Hello @iimapgpx,

I am unable to paste any character or word in the "Job responsibilities" and "accomplishments" text-boxes under section- "Current employment Details".

If I manually write inside the text box, the write-up is removed when I "save" the page, and all my content is deleted from the updated page. I have to start from scratch again. However, the contents in the tables such as salary, address, phone, manager's designation etc. are preserved after saving the page.

Also, it is not clear whether the content in write-up is limited by 500 words or 500 chars. The application form gives a limits of 500 chars above the box and 500 words on the bottom right corner of the text-box.

Please help as time is short. Any queries, please revert back.

I am a Civil Engineer with 5 years and 7 months of work ex out of which 4 yrs are in a managerial position. I took the GMAT in 2013 and scored 710, AWA 4. I have retaken it this year hoping to get a better score but could manage only 650, so I cancelled the score. I spoke to an admissions consultant regarding my chances of making it to PGPX. He said that as work ex is below the average for the course and the GMAT score not so good so getting into PGPX is next to impossible and that I need a minimum score of 740 to get an interview call. As the time is running out. I am unable to decide what to do. Can anyone kindly me on this?

What difference will it make if I apply in R2 ? Are there more chances in R1 ?I need to travel abroad urgently for work related purpose

I am working as a Branch Manager in a PSU bank and have a work ex of 6 years. Currently I am heading a branch and have worked in different divisions of the bank like credit, operations and admin.

Starting my career as an officer in the bank, I have worked as branch manager in a branch in metro city. Did my B.E. in computers with 67% and was average in school with 66% and 60% in 10th and 12th respectively. I have actively participated in extra curricular activities involving inter institute football & cricket tournaments and debating competitions.

I am interested in doing Exec MBA from IIM-A in order to switch over to financial services firm in private sector. Please advise me if this profile is apt for the course and if so then how much score should be I be targeting for it.

Thanx in advance and have a great day

Hello Everyone,

In the Application Form, regarding previous employment accomplishments, do we have to mention accomplishments like promotions, awards etc or can we even mention qualities and kind of experience which we got during that period ?

Hi all,

I am planning on applying in round 1 and with the deadline approaching, i was wondering how many people on this forum have already applied ?

Hi. Could you please shareshare GMAT score range not average for current or past PGPX classes. Thanks

Hi, is only GMAT and Undergrad score criteria for shortlisting?

In the section 'Extra-Curricular Activities/Interests', can't I mention hobbies and interests for which I haven't competed for or won any award? I am very passionate about photography and poetry writing but have never participated in any contest. So can't I include these hobbies as part of my application?

Hi Admin,

I would be having around 5.5 yrs of Exp by the time of form submission.

I have avg acads as it was always the state board education (79%, 72% & 6.9 CGPA).

I have an IT background, have 3+ yrs of exp in Capgemini as IT developer for Capital Market domain.

And then I moved to consultancy, have some 2 yrs of exp (ongoing) in Deloitte as a consultant (asst. manager) for ERP implementation on financial models.

I am yet to write GMAT, but going by the mocks, I might end up with 700ish score; I have enough time for at least 2 attempts by the last date of application. I can bag reference/recomm letters from my previous client's ( a capital market major MNC) manager from overseas and also from Deloitte's director.

What are my chances? Do I make a very avg profile ('coz of avg acads and the IT stamp)? Or have there been alumni with my kind of profile? Should I look forward to it or its just wasting my time considering my profile?

Thanks.

Can verified certificates from MOOCS such as Coursera. EdX be put in Self/Career advancement section? Will they be given significant importance when the application is considered?

Now, that the deadline for R1 has been crossed, does any one have any idea when the adcom will get back ?
