ICICI Business Leadership Programme - Min 3 Yrs Work Ex Required

One important thing, the HR guy has told me that they wont be absorbing all the selected students into ICICI. It will be based on grades. So, think before you decide to join. Best of Luck to all.

Its untrue because i myself had a word with the HR guy... the department they will put you in will be dependent on your grades.... but they will recruit everone selected on the payrolls.

I had asked it during the interview...now, I'm confused...

I had my GD/PI selection process today from Kolkata, there were around 110-20 people who came 4 GD and approx 40 were selected for the PI. I was one of them 2 b selected 😃 i found majority of the people were from ICICI bank.

the whole process is a sham ....when did GD become an elimination process....with the new IIMs discarding the concept of a GD it's high time the "corporate" understood this ...

I dont know what happened in your GD so cant comment on that why one got selected or rejected.. But the people in the panel are not fools. They are highly qualified persons having a lot of experience. After one's GD or interview, he thinks that he has done very good. But you are not there to judge yourself. They are there to judge you. Remember this thing.

Regarding GD being an elimination process. Is the admission process for all colleges same?? No. Each college or organisation follows its own process which it thinks is right from them in selecting the right candidates. So commenting that this process is not good wont be a proper one. Before going for the process you knew that GD is a elimination round. So why to complain now.

Wish you all the best for your future.

Update from Chennai:
About 100-120 people attended the process. 10 in each GD group. On an average 6 people getting selected from each group (There were two groups (including mine) from which 8 people got selected)

Interview got delayed. It started only at 3 PM. On an average 10 min for each candidate.

Now GD/PI for all the shortlisted people are over. When r the results coming out,any idea.when was it out, last time after the GD/PI? (I mean in how many days)

One of the disastrous experiences ever ! Highly surprised to find out that people who spoke the least ,merely repeating points made it! can't be nonchalant about it so discussing here....There's life beyond icici . ...call me a sore loser if you must but it was not a fair process.Only 4 out the 11 in my grp made it to the next level. ..the whole process is a sham ....when did GD become an elimination process....with the new IIMs discarding the concept of a GD it's high time the "corporate" understood this ...

I just exactly felt the same...4 selected out of 10 in my group(except one all spoke very less with repeated points made by the ones who do not made to the next round)..i think they are just looking for submissive guys or may be icici is too big a dream to think about for a average guy like me
Hi, I had the GD-PI in Bangalore today. I think it was a fair process and all the deserving people in my group got selected for interview after GD. Interview went quite ok, now keeping my fingers crossed.

I gave my GD\PI on 18th in Delhi. During my interview also they told me that there is a minimum criteria of 5 CGPA which will decide weather you are eligible for ICICI or not. Now this can mean different meanings..not sure.
1) Where are these conditions applied mentioned?
2) What if someone not able to score 5 CGPA?

I feel they will not select people who will not be able to score 5 CGPA . They will look into Acads of each and every candidate while selecting.

We can take a poll of candidates after the list is out.U will see I am telling it right.

I am posting this considering the request of some of my fellow mates who were there at the centre with me. My centre was Bangalore, Hosur road Mythri Building ICICI. I was in the 8:30 am slot of 20th Aug 2011. I ended up being at the centre at around 8am. We were asked to wait in a room. After sometime one of the gate keepers escorted us to a room where we were given seats to arrange our docs for verification. The mandatory ones were class 10,12 and Graduation mark sheets, along with a copy of the resume and current companies employment proof (Can be the salary slip, letter of relieving or Exp certificate). You just have to be the first one to end up at the desk of the people who were doing the verification. I did just that and ended being in the first batch. So far so good. For all those whose verification was done, we were asked to move to a different room in batches of 10 based on people who had got their documents verified. I got acquainted to a great bunch of IT folks in my group. There was just one lady who had a finance background. Rest all were from IT.After about 40-45minutes we were escorted by an HR personnel to the 2nd floor of the building for our GD and Extempore. In the room we had 2 old and experienced looking gentlemen and a middle-aged lady. But the GD was presided over by one of the old men. The topic of the case was about three ship breaking companies who were bidding for an investment in a Bank named as ABC which was on the way to bankruptcy and need a revival. Vivek as senior manager of SAG, another bank has to propose the best bet out of the three ship breaking companies for an effective investment. That being the gist of the whole topic. You will be given 30min to answer on your preference out of the three companies. After that , each one of us were given some 2-3minutes to support our choice. Remember this is very important. Mere writing isn't enough. You have to be candid about why you choose it over others and more than that be precise and to the point. After that, the whole group (In my case 10 people), were given 5 minutes to discuss on the case. In this too the panel will expect to speak points and valid ones too. So try to speak less, take your time and try to speak reasonable points in between. That will be more impact-ful that peaking rubbish and off the point things all the while.

Now its the time for the results with the whole process over, except of course the PI. We were made to sit in the same room for the next 20-30 odd minutes, after which the same HR person came up and announced a list of names of people from our batch and for other batches too, which were done with their GD and extempore. My hear pounded when I didn't get to hear my name from that list. But I became confident about myself when I found that those who spoke well and to the point in my group were not called for. That being said, this was the group of the people who were eliminated. It had some good speakers, but may be not too the point on that occasion or perhaps lacking in conviction.

Finally, it is the time for the PI. I was the first one in the whole batch to be called over, since I the other two fellow mates who were in sitting before me in the GD in the serial order were eliminated. In GD , I felt the rejection or the selection rate was to the tune of 50-55% depending on the group. In the interview, I had the same three people in the panel. They were very polite and cool with me. They asked me about myself in brief. I think I answered that well. 😃 I was asked, so as why I am choosing ICICI over all other MBA options and Why finance. I cited reasons like the good ROI and the merging of finance with IT for better functioning. So most of it was common questions about my current and past experience. I had a great experience on the whole. More than the result it was the exposure and the network of people that were around me that I felt so obliged to be part of. More so that, I happen to be in touch with few of them. I feel the result doesn't matter now, experience odes and I had ample amount of it. I am confident but at the same time circumspect :).

I would specially mention one more aspect on the MBA thing. I was given an opportunity to pose few questions. I asked them about batches under going through with the same curriculum. They said they have the oldest batch in the second semester now and that, the whole course is some 4.5 months old. And that they induct people thrice in a year. So it is at a very nascent stage, but sounds promising.

This might seem to be a pretty long post, but I wanted to post it to make things a bit clear for the people who will undergo the same process in the times to come. All the best and Good luck. :)

If it doesn't matter who wins or loses, then why do they keep score?

Hello All,

I am Maruthi from chennai. Attended the selection process yesterday (20th Aug). The process was as expected and people who actively participated in the GD got selected to the next round. Many ICICI employees, Ex-Employees attended the selection process.

I got selected and the interview was quite normal. For many candidates, its the same set of questions. I think the selection will be based on overall performance (Past Exp, Academic, Written test, GD & Interview). Literally they cant differentiate candidates based on only interview because mostly candidates gave same type of answers.

One of the current ICICI employee gave a different picture about the salary package. The variable pay will be more than 30-40%.

For me the experience was different altogether. Once the group was split, in our group all of us got along well and spoke to each other before the actual GD was started. As a result, in the real GD we gave space for each other to talk and it went very well in our group. Kudos to Prashant, Vivek, Aarthi & Preethi.

cheers
Maruthi

Hello Friends,
I had beautiful experience in interview . People were warm and soft spoken in interview . In GD , person who was trying to dominate was eliminated. I think good emphasis was also given to what we have written on paper. A part of my interview was based on GD only. Now lets hope for Best

Guys any Idea when results will be out ??

Horrible experience , never seen like this before. I got thru but people selected in my group were a surprise. There was one who said 31 is more than 34 , 16 more than 19 & other one who talking about relation to be kept , so bank should grant loan to both parties without even seeing what there balance sheet is. It soooo terrible guys....new lesseon i took from here make GD fish market , never allow more to speak , speak what ever u want confidently no matter how funny it is.

Hi Puys,

Attended GD/PI in Bengaluru on 19th Aug. Few insights:
1- GD ended at 12 noon. Topic - Cement Industry case analysis.
2- 7/10 were selected.
3- PI started at 7 pm. After 7 hours of GD completion. PI simple questions. Why MBA? Why ICICI? What you know about NIIT and finance? Willing to relocate? Tell me about yourself. About 25 min.

Think result will be out after 7 days as I guess today is the last day for the selection process in India.

Thanks for the valuable inputs provided by other Puys in this thread.

Thanks.

Hi All,
Attended GD/PI yest. The exp was great but the only thing that was a real cause of our energy exhaust was the prolonged time. It all started at 10am and went up till 8.30 pm. Also it was a nice platform to interact with people. Was a real fun yest at ICICI towers Ambattur chennai with Maruthi, aarthi n prashant.

After my interview, I asked them regarding declaration of result. They told that it will be declared in 15 days and you will be able to check your results on the same site where you registered.

.................

Ok here is something which I found.Last batch had last day of interview on 15th FEB.results were out on 3rd march.nearly 20 days.So this time ,last day of interview was 20th August ,so probable date of result will be after 5th September 2011.

ALSO.IT HAS BEEN A TREND THAT THE THREAD ON WHICH SPECULATIONS OF RESULTS ARE DONE IS CLOSED TEMPORARILY TILL THE RESULTS ARE OUT.hENCE REQUEST EVERYONE TO ONLY GIVE AN UPDATE IF:

1) yOU HAVE CALLED ICICI HUMAN RESOURCE AND GOT SOME INFORMATION DIRECTLY FROM THEM.
2) YOU GOT SOME INFORMATION FROM THE PREVIOUS BATCH ABOUT THE RESULTS.
3) IF SOME DISCUSSION REGARDING THE PROGRAM NEEDS TO BE DONE.

THANKS ALL.

But this time we were told that our BMAT result would be out by 10th august, but it came on 6th, so hope this kind of consistency ICICI would maintain and would declare result early!!

yup, results will take atleast 15 days. Prob will come for notice period. Since in some firms we have 2 to 3 months of notice period.
