As promised I will detail you guys about the GD /Interview process as was followed in Delhi Center today.
I was given a time of 8:30 Am.reached there sharp to find 3 ICICI people sitting at the table and some candidates in the lobby.They were checking the photo copy of the documents one by one and alloting everyone a GD group.I was alloted the first group.
Note:
Please carry the things mentioned below apart from mentioned in the mail.
1) Photocopy of your ID proof (PAN card etc.)
2) Photo copy of offer letter and recent payslip of your current employer.
Also please note that it is mandatory to carry photo copy of all the documents else they will delay the registration process until you bring the Photo copies.
Also 3 years mandatory criteria is being followed ,if they find you r below 3 yrs of exp. then they write it on your resume and other documents.hence no escape.
Group Discussion:
1) A group of 11 people in a group.sitting in a round table.
2) 3 members in a panel to evaluate your GD.
3) 1 from NIIT Univ + 2 from ICICI.
4) Topic:
No change in the GD Topics from last batch's assesment.
a) Popcorn marketing strategy of a company in small town
b) Cement case study.
5) You are given 30 minutes to read the case study and write a synopsis of it.
Synopsys contains:
a) Problem statement
b) Innovative ways to solve problem
c) Suggest best way to solve and why?
GD was a full chaos in my group.popcorn was the case.All were shouting.Pointing fingers.brushing against people.not allowing anyone to speak.
Finally the panel came to rescue.Shouted that this may be taken against you.People calmed down.
15 Minutes is the total time given to discuss.
Result: 5 people from grp of 11 selected. (People who spoke more and also gave couple of valid points.but guys you need to speak or else u r gone.
I also saw 3 people getting selected from one grp of 11.Thankfully I cleared the GD.
INTERVIEW
1) 5th in the row of interview.
2) I am an engineer. 4 Yrs exp in R&D.; software development.
3) 3 people in a panel
4) Questions asked:
a) Why suddenly MBA?
b) Long gap in studies r u ready to become student again
c) U r a wonderful techie it seems then then y shud we take you.
d) A panel member asked about the UID project.talked in detail about that.
e) One panel member asked about Indian economy. Answered him everything.
f) what is inflation ,how it occurs,how RBI controls it. Answered,talked about repo rate and reverse repo rate.
NOTE: It is advisable for everyone to study about indian economy from surface.
overall: It was a good process.bit delayed,but its streamlined.
All the best for evryone who r going tomorrow for the process.
Verdict : Got selected .did not join.

1) what exactly was the cement case all about (apart from popcorn and cement - is there any other case also).

1) Dunno yaar.It was a case of two companies coming for investment from bank.and u have to judge the credibility of companies and come up as to whom to give the loan.
2) yes ,these were main questions.but there were other questions pertaining to work ex.
3) no stressing the candidate.be happy about it.Either you know it or u don't

Can anyone tell if there is any existing batch which is going through the program? And wats the viability of the programme, in the sense that how an enterprise like ICICI promise on plcaing people with 15 lacs or more of package...sounds Utopian...

I went for the GD/PI yesterday, and the experience was great. There were in total 7 groups of 11 people each. So, 77 candidates for GD and 50%-55% were rejected in GD itself. So, total 30-35 candidate left for PI. I was the one lucky to reach till that level.
The GD was quite amazing, were a case let was given and we all have to write the summary and our judgement in the provided sheet. The case was about some Mr. smith has 40,00,000 tax free savings and Mr. reliable is a financial planner, who has to give him advise regarding the investment. the age of Mr Smith was 60 years and he just retired.
We were given 30 mins to write down the answers of following questions?
1. define the problem in the case?
2. whether the suggestions given by Mr. Reliable were enough save in respect to customer profile?
3. Give your suggestions?
after writing this, we were given 30-45 secs each to speak about what we have written.Then we had a GD of around 15 mins. and our group came to consensus that he should have other options to rather than what was given in the case.
In my group, 5 people got selected out of 11 and mainly those were selected who has spoken valid points and enough to participate in GD.
The after that I had to wait for PI for almost 2 hrs, they were actually grilling every body on there CV's. Mine was quiet grilling and hope for the best regarding the results.

close to 80 people.7-8 grps of 11 people each.
The entire process an take anywhere between 4 to 7 hrs.Depending upon your sequence in your grp.

One of the disastrous experiences ever ! Highly surprised to find out that people who spoke the least ,merely repeating points made it! can't be nonchalant about it so discussing here....There's life beyond icici . ...call me a sore loser if you must but it was not a fair process.Only 4 out the 11 in my grp made it to the next level. ..the whole process is a sham ....when did GD become an elimination process....with the new IIMs discarding the concept of a GD it's high time the "corporate" understood this ...
Hi, I had the GD-PI in Bangalore today. I think it was a fair process and all the deserving people in my group got selected for interview after GD. Interview went quite ok, now keeping my fingers crossed.
One important thing, the HR guy has told me that they wont be absorbing all the selected students into ICICI. It will be based on grades. So, think before you decide to join. Best of Luck to all.

Then in this case,they will not get the qUality people!!!!
