Hi All,
I just had my GD/PI at Kolkata.
GD was tough, we had to analyze investment bids of three companies. The same BBC topic discussed above.
Only 1 guy was selected out of the batch of 8 from my group.
PI was very friendly with a panel of 5, mainly work experience related questions.
Overall a nice experience, now keeping the fingers crossed.

got rejected in gd. Topic was suggesting investment plan to mr. Smith. All ppl agreed all points. There was nothing to disagree. Infact all points were obvious. And gd was just about who mentions them first. After that it turned in to a fish market. Only some banking background ppl were able to make some points which i didnt understand. And ultimately all 3 of them got selected and rest got rejected. In the end i feel luck was a very prominent factor in tis gd.
Just finished with PI and bck home...mine was at chennai at 0830..only 54 candidates today..were divided in group of 8..mine was group 1 and the topic was setting up popcorn plant in U.P. town...4 were selected including me fr fr PI...every group 4 were selected barring one were only 1 was selected..PI was ok types as they asked more abt financing and what does this role mean to me...i had hardly any idea abt it...bt they were asking abt it more..not much hopeful abt it..let see the result...

In PI, i have seen the jury carry the Apti score card , which indicates sectional marks u got. They were keenly looking at the scores

yes in fact the had the score of apti test printout right frm the beginning whn we had to verify the documents...so might be it has some weightage too
ya i too noticed that. but i never thought apti score will be given weight-age.
In my PI they have asked me a Q. aren't you too young to handle this job?

Finally finally my PI was over but am very apprehensive as they literally ---- me. They keep on change my decision posing some or other question but the central point of their quesn is all the same as y Finance after investing 4 yrs in IT and thrashed me for throwing out IT from my preference List :(...(As i chose that last inspite of having IT background)...

Don know even now,i can get rid of IT or not... Hope we have to wait for 2 weeks... So puys... Lets see how many PGS will get thru...:banghead:

Hey... there r nearly 40 odd people left for the PI.... The ratio is quite high.... So better to have least of all hopes :(:(:(
I m sure abt GD score as well as Appti score they must have taken into consideration. Don't know why i think it was the reason why i am not got through. I was sure abt my GD but guys I know my appti was not that good wht i expected. After GD they went inside and after half an hour come up with the result. They must have consider these case in close situation. Any way can't help now next time will again try my luck and all the very warm wishes for all guys who made it. Best of luck for ur result....

I think for GD/PI there were limited (may be 6) centres. And if you check post from people the no. of people on 2nd and third day have been reduced to 40-50 on most of the centres like Pune, Hyd etc.
I know on day 1 there were 35-40 guyz for PI @ Del, but how do u know abt 2nd and 3rd day volumes? Did u ask from any of ur frnd/known who atnded it on 2nd and 3rd day a NBCC?

No need to lose hope before getting the results.Anything can happen,I will tell u one example-
In our GD total 8 people are there, we had written our case analysis and have completed 10 mins GD then in between one person from panel stepped in and told us that we were not at all discussing the problem and nobody wrote even the right problem statement.In short, we had identified problem statement totally wrong.
My view was whole group should be eliminated as problem itself was not discussed and ,more over, in other 3 batches,they have identified problem right and discussed also OK.
Now the result-
Our group-6/8 selected(totally unexpected results)
Group-02-2/8
Group-03-3/8
Group-04-1/8
Then after my interview they asked about relocation and then after they asked me whether I had any question to ask ,I did ask only one question-Why you selected 6/8 in my group because we were totally away from the topic.
Then their answer-
you guys identified wrong problem but what ever you analysed that was very good.
In GD , you have been interrupted in between after 11 mins and have been told that you were away from the topic then what you guys have done we never saw-
1-Everybody listened to us very carefully.
2-Nobody got panicked.
3- And after this , in rest 3 mins you guys discussed right topic and gave us very good conclusion.
Then in extempore, you guys had put very good points about the problem irrespective wat you had written.
You guys rectified ur mistakes without panic and without fear of wat will happen if we write something else and explain something else.So good team work guys.
