Interview Strategy:: An interview is something that depends very much on luck. because it is possible that you prepare for almost a month and nothing is asked out of that. But that doesnt mean that u should take it lightly.
So what to cover for interview:: Technical+Banking+Current affairs+Miscellaneous
TECHNICAL: just take a quick revision of what u have studied for mains. They can ask what is your favorite subject and then start questioning on that. So better to master 1 or 2 subjects.
Banking: Even though it is a specialist officer job but remember it is a job in a bank. So knowlege of basics of banking is a must. Dont lie before them in interview. If u have appeared for other bank exams/govt sector exams then tell them. And also if u have appeared for other bank exam then be ready for questions from banking.
Current affairs:: Just read daily newspaper for this. Also cover all major issues. There is a probability that questions from this section are asked more than qs from banking section. the reason is that out of the interviewers present there only 1 or 2 will be from technical wing. Rest interviewers are those who take the po interviews. Since it is a technical job, if they ask u a qs they will hesitate to ask a bank qs (because people from private sector also give this exam and it is possible that they have 0 knowlege of banking.) rather they will go for some gk qs for ex questions from current union budget because it is something everyone should know. but thats my thinking. thats what i feel after reading 40-50 SO previous yr interview experiences from various sites.
Miscellaneous:: Now coming to this part::
1>> HR Questions:: Basic intro?? abt family?? fathers and mothers profession?? meaning of ur name??strengths, weekness, hobby and interests??qualities?? why u deserve this job??Achievements/Source of motivation
2>Knowledge of ur state and major issues. Whats famous abt ur home district ur college??? neighbouring states??
3>> project carried out in college??( less chance for this question(asked in pvt interviews but still)
4>> Private me kyu nhi apply kiya? or Why don't you go for software industry?
Why leaving high package pvt job?? why join banking?? why not other technical exams??
5>> Have u appeared for other banking exams?? if yes then get ready for questions from banking. dont lie before them .it will cost u. i am saying this again.
6>>Role of an IT officer in banks ?? job profile?? Promotion scale:: To check ur knowledge of the career u are about to persue
Need of technology in banking??
CORE banking solutions??(favorite qs of interviewers)
Knowledge of mobile apps of various banks.
which apps do u use for digital transactions?Remember their developers
BHIM APP/UPI
SOftware used by banks?? Which company make them??(FINACLE,BaNCS, etc)
Topology/protocols used in banking
Your views regarding digitalisation/Cyber crime and security.
Types of malwares and attacks/cryptography
etc etc etc etc
7>> Questions to check ur opinions on certain issues like supreme court judges controversy/padmawat/gst/demonitisation etc....
8>> Situation based questions::
>>>What will you do in case bank server fails? Steps taken by u to solve this.
>>>If the bank has a massive server fail and loses all customer data how can you prove what you had in your bank account?
>>>IF any-one tries to steal information from server/hack server so how to secure that?
etc etc etc
9>> Govt schemes specially that mentioned in budget
10>> Expect the unexpected (most imp):: anthing can be asked
Actually i have tried my best to give an idea of the type of questions that can be raised by interviewer. List of questions can be much bigger. it is possible that interviewer may not ask even a single qs from what i have mentioned.
If possible i will try to give u a list of technical questions that can be asked. i gathered this list of qs last yr from various sources. i will check if that list is present on my pc.
All the best for interview.
