A middle aged banker who has 20years of exp says that the present generation of bankers are creating false hopes regarding wage revision. with lot of npa's on the line expecting 30% increase in basic salary is just ridiculous. they are comparing themselves with central govt,railways employees whose salary is given from the taxes the public pay to the govt. but a bankers salary is given by the profits earned by the bank. when govt is introducing all the no/less interest schemes profits are going to reduce. banks cannot invest all the profits into the salary of the employees. wage revision discussins will continue even after elections are over. it will be 13.5-15% increase . bankers are also asking to change nps to epf where returns are guaranteed. by the endof 2014 we can recieve the new increased salary
