I did something very crazy and I am struck now. My preference list has EXIM Bank at No-1 and ECGC at No-23. What the hell did I do? Is there any way that I can safely answer this question? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In case of Bank Guarantee, Bank's provide assurance to its customers that in case a customer is unable to pay off it's debts, then bank will cover it on behalf of it's customer.
MY QUESTION IS -- Why bank does so? What benefits bank receive from this guarantee? Do customers need to keep any asset with bank as security?
Are we required to fill up any biodata like form before the interview?
