Comments on CET Dear Sir/Madam, I am a government job aspirant. My suggestion on CET is that it should not be implemented. It is not a good idea because of numerous reasons. Two major reasons are as following : Firstly, there are three major recruitment bodies which conduct their specific exams, that is Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Every aspirant has their own choice of studying for any one or all of these exams as every exam demands something different and special from candidates and they set their paper with that syllabus accordingly. There is a huge difference in the “syllabus” and pattern of exam of IBPS (which mainly conduct for PSBs) and SSC and Railway. Many candidates like me who have given their 2 to 3 years for a particular exam will not be able to cope with anything new or new changes in the pattern of exams because we have been preparing for only IBPS and we intend to go for PSBs only. We do not prepare for exams like SSC and Railways which has a totally different exam pattern and “syllabus”. Even SSC and Railways exam are slightly different and each recruitment body has their own set of candidates who prepare for those particular exams only. “All our hard work put in to understand the pattern and syllabus of an exam will be lost if CET is implemented”. This will serve us no good but only problems. Secondly, Right now IBPS comes up with five(5) notifications every year apart from SBI which conducts two(2) exams of its own via IBPS only. So in total, we get 7 to 8 chances to appear for exam exclusively for a bank, whereas in CET we will be only getting three(3) chance in a year. Similarly, SSC comes up with a minimum of three(3) exams in a year and Railway of its own. So all in all our chances of getting a job is diminishing many folds. This is with all due respect, unacceptable! As far as “fees” is concerned SSC and Railways charges only Rs 100 from a general and obc candidate and fees are exempted for Women and Reserve candidates. IBPS charges Rs 600 from general and obc candidates and Rs 150 from reserve candidates which is acceptable as the exam is conducted fairly and transparently and within six months. I would request not to implement CET as every candidate has their own choice and preference plus syllabus is another huge concern also the number of chances is way below in CET. CET will be a big blow to us government job seekers and ruin all our effort and will lower our chances of getting a job. Kindly do not bring CET as things are just fair and fine. Thank you.
