Hi.. i think the answers are (E) and (A) for the first and second respectively..

Here's my reasoning:-

In the first question - options A, B and D say that the supernova explosion is by itself a "type". But actually the supernova explosion is a "type of explosion" that was previously known to science; between C and E, I felt is C is awkward and hence chose E.

In the second question - we can straightaway rule out options D & E as they seem to suggest that Margaret went to photograph "with" murals. Between options A, B & C --> C has awkward structure and B uses the "-ing" form of the verb. That's why I chose A.

May be the use of participle.."sheltering"..?

Pls help with reasoning........

1) D.
Might is correct. So out of B & D, B is wrong. Hence D which is grammatically correct though a little awkward.

2) E.
I think "increase" is wrong and "likelihood for" is wrong

3) E.
A, B, C are out bcoz they are too wordy.
D wud have been better if "than" were there instead of "as".
E is correct.

4) C.
"world has ever seen" makes C parallel.

Plz tell the OAs.

I also think E and A are right.

To add to what Arch said, for 2nd, I think A is correct because
whose murals are brilliantly colored, their geometrical symmetries embellished with old and new iconography and in a style that varies from woman to woman and house to house

The italicized parts are parallel.
In B & C, "are embellished" give the impression that women are embellished.
1) D.
Might is correct. So out of B & D, B is wrong. Hence D which is grammatically correct though a little awkward.

2) E.
A, B, C are out bcoz they are too wordy.

Hi.. I think the Answer is (C). Is that right?

Options (A), (D) and (E) seem to refer to the wing span of the Quetzalcoatlus as the largest flying creature! Between (B) and (C), the former is awkward, that's why I chose (C).

Plz correct me if I'm wrong!

E. Inflated to make.

1) what is up until recently? I can remove up without changing the meaning of the sentence so up should be redundant (thats what I think πŸ˜ƒ ). Until recently means thats no longer the case so the sentence should use had sheltered right why the present have? this is why I didn't select D.
2) the earlier airbags inflates with a burst of smoke. If we say inflated to make then the purpose of airbags was to terrify passengers right? This is illogical. So I chose inflated and made (make is awkward)
