Waiting for Mr. Cognizant for the answers...or Kunal or Mr. WhytodoMBA may enlighten us on this topic...
For many people, household labor remains demanding even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle.
(A) even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(B) despite being able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(C) even if they can afford household appliances their grandparents would have found miraculous
(D) although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous
(E) even if they are able to afford household appliances which would have been a miracle to their grandparents

C seems right here
A-> awkward not coherent .. who are able to afford?
B-> same missing something.. who are able to afford?
C-> Seems correct
D-> use of although "incorrect"
E-> use of "which" is incorrect and this sentence changes the meaning ..
it seems that household appliances would have been a miracle for grandparents.. rather it is the ability to own them that is a miracle..

agreed.. C (fast becoming my fav option )

For some birds the sense of smell appears to play a role in navigation, since pigeons with surgically removed olfactory nerves were found to have increased difficulties in homing.
(A) were found to have increased difficulties
(B) have been found to have increased difficulty
(C) were found to have increasing difficulty
(D) had been found to have increased difficulties
(E) have been found to have increasing difficulties

Present Perfect Continuous is the right tense here... because the research did happen in future is still going on.. "increasing" is wrong.. we can not assume that difficulties are rising.. hence "increased" is right..

"were" is wrong tense..
C seems right here
A-> awkward not coherent .. who are able to afford?
B-> same missing something.. who are able to afford?
C-> Seems correct
D-> use of although "incorrect"
E-> use of "which" is incorrect and this sentence changes the meaning ..

i think you got me right. The word "it" to refer afford.. i meant the ability to afford and not the appliances.
and is which always used for singular things ??
for e.g
I have 10 cars which are red in color.
I have 10 cars, which are red in color.

which of the above is correct ??

"which" is used to refer to the noun immediately before it.. never the entire clause..
and in my opinion
I have 10 cars, which are red in color.
because whenever u use which precede it with comma (in GMAT) except when u r using preposition preceding it..
"which" is non restrictive and therefore must come after a comma
Correct me if i'm wrong..

Parallelism can be one factor
aiding...pollinating....helping
B can be the answer as all other options fail on this criteria...
