For the question 18, Whether "the inability of france" or "The inability of french" is correct.

"The inability of French" is correct because French refers to people living in French(here the army) whereas France is the name of the country.

the ans is E ????

Dioxins are in plural!!! So they can be counted. Choice E is ok for me.

HI Sushant,

Ans E is correct for me. "Many" is correct as it refers to the different types of Dioxins and not "Much" coz its not something like amount of dioxins.

Hope this helps.

After suffering $2 billion in losses and 25,000 layoffs, the nation's semiconductor industry, which makes chips that run everything from computers and spy satellites to dishwashers, appears to have made a long-awaited recovery.

"appears to have made" is for "the nation's semiconductor industry"

As per option C the sentence will be : the nation's semiconductor industry, ....., appears that it has made a long-awaited recovery.
Sounds absurd...

Option A is correct.

A tells u Present continous ??????

B - 'of' is missing since 'dispose of' is correct....only 'dispose' is not right in this context
C - change of tense...'anyone disposing' is in continuous and 'who services' is in simple present.
D - it is wrong for obvious reasons!
E - 'someone' is not right cuz it gives the impression that a group of ppl are disposing of the refrigerators and one of them must capture it while the actual context is altogether different!

so we are left with the correct answer A...

p.s. : try not to post the correct answers along with the questions...it just makes our work more easier...giv ppl some food for thought!!

as far as the tense(Pr. Continuous) is concerned, let me add that we can use Pr. Cont to say/tell something that will be happenening in future..eg. I'm going to my uncle's place tomorrow.

We were given a clear indication (after july.....must) that the event is scheduled in future. So Pr.Cont. tense can be used without doubt>>>
