IMO
1). D , parallelism in participle "beating" and "adopting" and contrast is clearly shown by conjunction "yet".

2). D

A -> idiom either...or.... is unparallel. I don't think "although" is required here.
B-> same as A as it seems bit awkward as sentence started with a contrasting phrase and then unable to demonstrate that contrast.
C-> "but" again showing contrast is second clause which is not what sentence conveys.
E-> this is complete absurd.

What is OA ? atleast for 2

Ur line of reasoning is perfect in both the answers. Both u guys (dare 2 and u) are right. Answer is D for both. I was confused which one to give priority for question 1, grammer which is Ok in C or meaning in D. But it seems that meaning needs to be preserved alongwith grammer.

@dare2, nothing wrong if you can answer it correctly in 2 mins. Practice more for such questions and u can better ur timing. However, learn not to spend more than 2 min no matter how long or tough the question is. Making an educated guess and moving on is one of the strategies.

TO read of ....is to feel.... answer should be A. Although "read of" sounds little weird than read about but its better to stick to grammer.

My take : Option A

Reason : to satisfy parallelism,*to* is required at the beginning of the sentence, so option B,C,D rejected. Out of A and E, A looks the better option and there is no use of *have* in option E. Thus, A.

I suck at SC, so could be wrong too 😁

rightly done.. the construct is 'to X is to Y'
