Hey! ne body knows the OAs.
Nitiman! Can u send the right answers plzzzzzzz importantly for 3rd & 4th qs.
Could someone explain the following OG question to me.
160. While some propose to combat widespread illegal copying of computer programs by attempting to change people's attitudes toward pirating, others by suggesting reducing software prices to decrease the incentive for pirating, and still others by calling for the prosecution of those who copy software illegally.
(A) by suggesting reducing software prices to decrease the incentive for pirating, and still others by calling
(B) by suggesting the reduction of software prices to decrease the incentive for pirating, and still others call
(C) suggest the reduction of software prices for decreasing the incentive for pirating, and still others call
(D) suggest the reduction of software prices to decrease the incentive for pirating, and still others by calling
(E) suggest reducing software prices to decrease the incentive for pirating, and still others are calling
here is OG's explanation
Answer to Question
Choice E, the best answer, uses constructions that are parallel to some propose', others suggest. . . , and still others are calling ....
How is "some propose, others suggest" .. parallel with "and still others are calling"? Shouldn't it be "and still others call"?
Thanks guys.
Pls post the right answers, it's already been 4 days! Am totally confused, more so after looking at these replies, which I don't agree to at all.
16: warm up the rooms? r they(the rooms) gonna exercise?
Will go for 'c'
17: "evidenced in" in 'd' looks awkward, and "he" doesn't parallel "Guy de Maupassant's" in 'e'
so, I donno what the right answer is
18: I think it's 'a'
19: 'a' looks fine
Mr.abouttime....request you to please be on time now in posting the replies...
we anxious guys are waiting to know the OA's....
Point to be noted. Is there any guideline/thumbrule on the forum for time between posting the Q & giving away the OA? Can we come up with one?
Rohit.
Yes ROHIT ,
I also believe that the people are simply interested in posting questions.in fact the purpose must be the learning.so its better that the particular thread junta discuss the problems ,post OA and proceed to next problem

Arch......i was not really convinced with the explanation thrown in by the MGMAT staff...
but my 2 cents :
The Olympic Games helped to keep peace among the pugnacious states of the Greek world in that a sacred truce was proclaimed during the festival's month.
(A) Same
(B) world, proclaiming a sacred truce during the festivals month
(C) world when they proclaimed a sacred truce for the festival month
(D) world, for a sacred truce was proclaimed during the month of the festival
(E) world by proclamation of a sacred truce that was for the month of the festival
First thing : Stop using festival's month.....it should always me the month of the festival...
Eg: leg of the table and not table's leg but Jack's coat is correct since the possesive of human being is always correct...
this would eliminate options : A,B,C.
When we come to E : is wordy and not pleasant to my ears....
Left with D , the contruction of which is brilliant enough . As mentioned somewhr earlier...for a sacred truce etc etc doesnt make use of any idiom and it is a valid sentence construction !
Cheers
Flintoff !
