Hi Folks,
I'm a techie with 1.5 yrs of work ex.Pretty much came to know the reality when I first joined this IT industry that I don't belong to this world . I am very keen to pursue my MBA program outside India. Not sure about all the feasibility surrounding the program,it made me write few lines which could enable me to understand more on this. I am pretty much new to the GMAT format,as I am completely unaware of. I have few queries, which answered would surely help me.

1. Wanted to know if at all there is any good coaching Inst available for GMAT in Bangalore and what is the fee structure.I've heard Veristas is primarily focused on GMAT but the charges are pretty high. Pl update me regarding the same. And is it at all necessary to undergo coaching.

2. If I dont undergo any kind of coaching for the same, I want to know which are the best books available to begin with in all the sections and where can i find them.

Pl update me with my above mentioned queries which would help me enlighten my knowledge further for the same.

Cheers.

@ red_hauster,

About coaching institutes, puys have mixed opinion, if you think that you willl not be able to stick to a tight schedule then you can go for a coaching centre but it will generally costs you a hand and a leg. You can ask some of the bangalorean puys about the coachings there and then decide if you wanna go for it.

About books for gmat, you are in the correct thread and you'll find loads of gyaan given by different gods of gmat, just start peeking at the posts of this thread from the start, here I am mentioning some relevant books --

@red_hauster
I think OG-11 is THE book to start with as its published by GMAC (the company which conducts GMAT)

For some more info, please pm me with your e-mail id and I will mail you with some of the related older posts, don't want cew up PG's critical database with the same posts.

@tg_maverick
Minneapolis is far better place than St.Paul dude, unfortunately I am on the later side of twin cities.
I have also started the preparation hardly a month ago so we are in the same boat, but I'll try to help if I can...plz pm me with your e-mail id

Hi Pugs,

I had a query regarding GMAT prep. Does it add value for doing OG10 after completing OG11? Will it be repititive? Is it better to put efforts on other material rather then OG10?

I have completed 60% of OG11 and should be done 100% in a week or so.

Also can someone please help me with OG verbal and OG math guides online source.

Thanks.

Greetings to one and all.
i recently gave a "mock" GMAT,without any prior preparation, in which i scored 400 .
I aspire to give GMAT in the last week of October, and need your guidance
as to what would be the best reference material, and how can i a lay my hands on them (download if soft copies are available).
I live in Mumbai so if any of you who already have preparatory material, and would like to help me by studying with me, are welcome.

Since you also reside in Mumbai, will you be able to provide me a copy of it ?

Hi all,
I came by this problem in the free GMATPrep software and have no clue how to solve it. Can someone please help?

Moderators,
I don't know if I am infringing on any copyright issues by attaching a copy of the question. However, if you go through it, you will understand why it is impossible for me explain the question clearly, were I to type it instead.

Thanks for your understanding

Shilo

Hey Red_hauster, do not post your your e-mail id in the pagal guy forum, its against the PG rules, request you to please edit the post and remove the id. You should use "Send a private message" utility instead. i will mail you the required info.
Thank you for the information.

I have PDF's for few of the above sources not all. PM your email id and the books that you need, if i have the soft copy i will email it to u.

Also i am currently in US so wont be able to help you with the ones that i have in hard copy.

Hey puys,

Does any of you have any pdf on Probability and Permutation/Combination ?
Although I have a volatile memory but I can remember that 11th and 12th class maths book would really cover most of the background for solving the gmat questions on this topic.
Unfortunately I am away from home country so can't get those books here but I am sure some of you might help me
Please let me know if you have any related soft copy, I'll pm you my id.

Thanks in advance!

I have published the reference archives that I created whilst preparing for GMAT.

1. The Communique - A collection of usage related pointers

2. The Sums - A collection of arithmetic concepts

Feel free to download them, review and send me your comments.

Hi..

My GMAT has been scheduled in the 1st week of September 2008. I have been taking some Practice Tests, the scores of which are as follows:-

GMAT Prep - 650
Kaplan (after 10 days) - 580
Online Manhattan Test (5 days after Kaplan)- 660
Princeton (2 days after MGMAT) - 590

I have gone through various posts that explain that Kaplan Tests are low scoring and that one can add between 80-100 marks to get an approximate idea of how one is likely to score. (plz correct me if i'm wrong here!)

I was however very puzzled by my Princeton GMAT test score. (I was positive at the end of the test that I was nearing the 700 mark.. or that I would've got atleast a 680!) I got fewer questions wrong than in my GMAT Prep, Kaplan or Manhattan Tests and still managed to get a score of 590!

Can someone plz explain if u've had a similar experience? or throw some light on how best I can interpret my Princeton GMAT score?

Thanks a lot!
