Dear batchmates ,
I had a talk with Mr Mukesh , who is the nodal person , regarding the laptops , The news is that the deal hasnt been wrapped up as of now .I asked him which brands are the frontrunners at the moment ( have a personal liking for IBM(lenonvo) , but nothing hs been decided as of now , still a month for all that ... reasons being
1) In most of the other colleges the deal gets wrapped up in the first week of june , and its easier to get in touch with other colleges and get to know what was the price at which they got the same .
2)Most of the MNC companies in laptops , have their year endings in june , and so in order to meet their sales targets or other targets they offer huge discounts .
According to him we might get the laptops in around 15 days , from the time , the deal has been stuck .. I had been to GIM's lab , all the PC's there were PIV , and he assured me that it wont be a problem ... The college is doing its best t get the best possible config at the best possible price... its just that we have to be patient

Well I went to Goa last week ... It was a pretty hectic tour as I reached goa at 10 am and left by 4 pm.. But within that time I got my loan sanctioned at andhra bank.. I think the bank manager is great as I was alone and still I got my loan processed in one day. I also went to GIM to see the college and also to get a letter of introduction for my loan. Unfortunately couldn't meet any senior. Then I had a awesome lunch at hotel Seema. Overall the view of mandovi river from the college was awesome.. So I can't wait to be at Goa..

only then it was sanctioned lol... just kidding ... i told u guys na , its a piece of cake , sanctioning the loan .... GIM has suich goodwill in goa , that no bank , absolutely no bank will ever refuse a loan ...to a GIM student ..
Nanak , please post abt all the documents and other details which might be of help to othe rloan applicants .. as my post is really buried way back by now .. so u should take the initiative now , as u have freshly taken the loan ..
Please post ur number at that yahoo groups , and volunteer to help in this matter ...

If only I was in Mumbai... sigh......Thats not the case .. and the PGP1's who were from mumbai , are no more active on pg these days ... There are quite a few seniors there in bbay who are doing their summers there .. they would defi be there I think ...

Well Friends I want to share with you all the documents and procedures that are required for availing a educational loan from andhra bank from Panjim, Goa. To start with I will tell you the things to do if are approaching the bank without your parents.
1) First ask your parents to go to a local Andhra Bank at your native to collect the edu. loan form or else u send it to them. Then ask ur parents to sign in the relevant boxes, attach their photo and send it to u.
2) Then you fill up the relevant boxes with photo. If in doubt fill it up in pencil so that ur form doesn't get discarded.
3) Get all ur marksheets and certificates -10th, 12th and all yrs of college attested. Get ur birth certificate, work exp. , Pay slip if any attested. Also get ur photo ID like DL, Passport or Pan card with photo copy.
4) Then get ur parents Pay slip, Form 16, Address Proof, Investment proof and photo ID- All Photo copy. Also get their salary account no. bank balance.
5) Get 6 copy passport sixe photo of ur's and ur parent.
6) Carry original for verifying.
7) Call up andhra bank before coming. Talk to the Manager, Asst. Manager( Who processed my loan) or Rajani Madam. U will get all their nos. in the andhra bank website.
Plan in such a wey that u reach the bank by 11.00 am as they will send u to GIM to get a letter of Introduction.9) U will also have to deposit Rs.2000/- for opening an S/B account.
10) If everything goes smooth then u should get ur loan approved by the same day afternoon as the bank is open till 4.00 pm.
11) The bank will also tell u to ask ur parents to go to ur native andhra bank and sign a form ( Gurantee) in front of the manager there. But that's just a formality.
So that's what I did and I got my loan approve on the same day.
Word of Advice- I was the only guy who took his loan that day. So please make sure u reach early to avoid rush.

The bank sends the guarantee papers which have to be ona 50 rs stamppaper , to the branch , where ur guardian has to go and sign with a photo identity proof .. then that bank , sends over these signed papers back to andhra bank panjim. Then whenever u come to goa , u need to sign a few papers , then only u get the money .. Infact then only is the whole processing complete ..
In case ur travelling with ur parents the money is credited in your account the same day , as the processing is done the same day ..
