Hey moneet dont worry so much abt the rankings........Most prob GIM didnt participate as i am v sure that GIM is better than some in the top 15-20. Yes GIM has some catching up to do and am certain it can begin with their website......like posting the detailed profiles of all the students as well as being more thorough in posting the placement details....i dont mean botch up the details so as to make it look attractive(which some inst do) but give a factual picture....It also needs some upgrading of the student alumni interaction....etc etc....
So guys let it b the last meeting before GIM.....Even if all dont turn up we'll still meet.....i'll inform the seniors as well.....there are atleast two of them.....
BTW Anil and neha next month same date we'll b in GOA
and since both of us(Anil&Me;) are taking our bikes...so we'll b doin some initial exploring.....

finally i m back...Delhi's garmi took its toll on me but finally i m able to recover... 
very dissappointed by seeing the enthu level of my batchmates. In last 6 days only 10 messages have been posted...com on guys wher r u? when we say that we r going to study in one of the best B-school of india, it should be reflected by our energy level and enthu...dont u guys think so?
I have gone through all the posts which i missed and i agree with u all the we need to make GIM brand more recogniseable and more respectable in the society in general and corporate world in perticular. From the info which i have i can say that our faculty is as that of XIM B or XLRI... most of the faculty at GIM has been to XLRI or XIMB at some point of time. Now if we talk about locational disadvantage, i think we in a resonable better postion than XLRI or XIMB. So finally wher r we lacking? why people chose XLRI over GIM? I think the answer lies in the fact that XLRI is a more recognizeable brand than GIM( Everybody knows XLRI) and thats due to the reputation earned by its alumnii over the years. We have to build that reputaion.
Secondly, how can marketing of the institute change its outlook it quite evident by the example of SCMHRD ( both GIM and SCMHRD started in 1993 and all of us will agree that we r better in terms of faculty and comparable if not better in other fields, still SCMHRD has more brand power than GIM. Well lets not talk about locational disadvantage we have XRLI and XIMB to emulate).
And i ll say lets not look at the ratings...THEY R SIMPLY DECEIVING

Let me introduce myself.
This is Girish from Delhi. I too will be heading to goa this fall. I am working with PWC & have put in my papers.
It has been long time since i joined this group & have been observing the various inputs from the members. Finally i couldn't resist & i have to say that this batch will make the world realise the fact that GIM is indeed one of the best Institute of Management. For it seems that we have among ourselves some of the best brains. People who have the right attitude & the requisite knowledge to become some of the best managers produced by this institue, the country & the world. But to make it happen we have to work hard. The hard work for the next 2 years & the resultant output will be the best medium to help GIM become a BRAND. Then we won't need any PR incharge or any other external agency to help make GIM the Brand we are eager for.
For the Delhi meet this saturday, I am in.

Hi Guys.....Yesterday had a loong chat with one of the ex alumni of GIM. He was with me in school. Gave me a lot of inputs abt GIM. His underlining statement was that the two yrs at GIM will rock....

Well i cud'nt make it to the meet.....but hey ...managed to have dinner with a senior( Rajesh) the previous night....he was doin his summers in darashaw and happened to b stayin in a guest house in my colony....told me a lot abt the college esp. the alternate SAT parties....plus the wy things are in general there.....he said that for his batch the laptop cost was approx. 45000( Actually it was 63000 but the college gave some fee concession.....of 18000/ so .....) it was IBM make..............Well its already 29th so its gettin closer.....see ya
