I am working with one of the top3 IT companies in Pune.
I hate what i am doing there..I desp wanted to do MBA..
My mock scores are not great..and i am at very low confidce..
I dnt know what should i do in order to get the confidence back..also i was very gud in my clg days...so my parents are having gr8 hope from me...i dnt know how i am going to fulfil those...wish me some luck..

Your id itself says winner & you are so lost in your thoughts.
Anyways 1st of all, every IT guy, these days, feels the same after a period of time, so you are not an exception.
Secondly, do not use the word hate, as it shows that you are there, when you did not wanted to be there, but obviously it was your choice only, that you are there.
Try to enjoy your work, which in turn will give you positive vibes, & at the same time jot down some goals (short term & long term) of yours, based on your priorities & then take a decision, which suits you most.
Do not go by the herd race, & start following what others are doing.
Listen to your Interior & then start putting sincere efforts in that direction.
Definitely you will achieve the results , though may be a bit late.
Try to keep yourself always positive, then only you can succeed.
You have to assure yourself that you can do a task in the best possible manner.
No1 else can do it on your behalf.
Hope you will take these words in your thought process & come out with flying colors & achieve whatever you aspire for.

i had done MBA frm pune this year but didnt get a job .right now i m in delhi looking for some consultancy which can assist me for placement .as i m new to delhi and there r more than 500 consultancy in this city so i think it will b very tough for me to visit each one. i will really appretiate if someone cn tell me top 4-5 consultancies specializing in MBAns placement with whom i should register.

i am an engineering final yr student...cracking CAt and getting into IIM was my dream...or i shuld say it is still my dream....i have been seriously preparing for it since last december...i used to be highly motivated earlier...i think it was basically because i had somehwere in my mind tht i had not done jstice to my potential...and so i needed to prove the wrld tht "i have the thing"
initially not getting into IITs and tht too missing it by a whisker had crumbled me....i thought CAT is the only way to show what i culd do...i just neglected the engineering part.....i have somehow managed to get a so so result...but with no interst and effort....but somewhere in my mind i had the thing tht CAT wuld wash away evrythng...so i was thinking of it throughout ....infact i had seriously prepared for it in summers and i left my summer intrnship so tht i culd prepare for it...
just after summer we had our placmnt season starting...as i had no hopes of gtting a good plcmnt so i was focused abt CAT....but i hit a jackpot the first day of my placmnts...i got into a leading automobile company with a good package....but now the situaiton has just turned arnd...i have wasted arnd 1and a half month doing nothing....and now after the CAT notification came i realized i have wasted my efforts....
i have been scoring decently in mock CATs i have given(90-97)....tht too with very less efforts...may be the earlier made efforts r paying off...somewhere in my mind i want to get into IIMS...but i m not getting the motivation...i have been trying hard to motivate myself....but the atmosphere arnd is also not helping...everybody is in a mode of last yr college life masti....
i think i wuld again miss CAT by a whisker and end up regretting... i am not able to help myself although i m aware of evrythng....i jst need wrds of motivation guys...i just need people to pelt me and make me realize wht i m going to miss.....plzz help.....

When one sees a dream .. he doesn't care about people around him .. so when there is time to work and achieve that dream, why should i go and look at people around me ?? And that too, when they are helping me in no way to achieve what i have always desired.
Look at the people who have achieved their dreams just because of commitment for the dream ... its not just hard work which brings success, rather it is the dedication and strong will for the dream which helps us in getting what we have earlier just dreamt of .
You might get a good package, good company .. but what about the mental peace ?? no money can buy it for you !! You will always think that if you would have dedicated some time for your dream , you might have achieved it .. and this thought will never let you in peace.
Sacrifice of fun of 2 months in order to get mental peace for rest of the life OR fun for few months at the cost of your dream ?? You have to decide this .. no one else can help you in deciding ..

i completed my 12th from cbse board and got scholorship for Merchant-navy and went to scotland for studies, but that year terror struck at glasgow airport and all my dreams collapsed & i had to return back.
i scored 78% in 10th,65% in 12th both in CBSE..then after wasting one year for merchant-navy, i done BBM from bangalore and scored 77% in my graduation without any back and gathered lot of certificates and medal for extra-curricular activities too..now regarding work-experience i got 8 months work-experience from nokia which i got through campus-placement in my 2nd year,and i worked only till my 3rd year along with studies. Also my family business is Rubber-plantation and Departmental chain like big-bazaar, i help my dad in that too....
will my drop of one year after 12th a problem if i cleared CAT, what should i say about my experience, is it only 8 months or even i can add family-business exp. too or my experience is nil according to B-Schools.
Am preparing for CAT well but,always worried about my Profile,Can u Help me Plz??? {i got necessary proof details for all courses & experience certificates(except for family business)}
with the kind of score i am seeing in pg i feel embarrassed to post my score but anyways i am doing it so as to get some help my aimcat performance varies from 74 to as low as 30%.i am yet to start preparing though(As this is my second attempt have studied the basics during my first attempt cat2009). pls guide me on how to go abt it in 2 months so that i could get a decent percentile. pls help me puys

Dude, I have a similar issue. I went to the US after 12th but had to come back in early 2008 because of the recession - it became too expensive to fund an education that in all likelihood wouldn't have landed me a job to pay back all the student loans.
At the same time, I can happily say that the one year I spent in the US has dramatically influenced my personality, my views, and my aspirations. I can take a lot of positives from a negative experience, and this is the angle I will present to the admissions authorities. After all, not all plans in your life work out - just as they don't do in business.
Try to gather all the positives from your 1 year experience in Scotland. Present the 1 year diversion as a positive, rather than negative experience. People who've dicked around, stumbled, and have been humbled by life are usually more mature and pragmatic than the ones who have followed the tried and set 'path'. Convince the admissions committee of the same, and I don't think it would be much of an issue.

Hey, first of all stop worrying about your mock scores. The purpose of giving mocks is just to see in which areas you are lacking. As you have said that you are not scoring well at the moment, so that means there is some problem (strategy, etc). But still you have around 2 months, and if you work hard on your weaknesses during this period surely you will perform well in CAT.
In the past also there were many people who didn't score well in mocks but they did well in CAT... just read this

you have said that you have covered basics during last year, so now you need to analyse your mock performance.
If you have not scored well, so just try to find various reason behind this. the kind of question you got wrong, whether you wasted a lot of time on questions which shouldn't have been attempted etc, etc.
the same applies to the mocks in which you have performed well. Just ask yourself what went right that day, what strategy you adopt etc.
And once you find the strategy that suits you, surely you will find improvement in your scores.
Last year i was not scoring well in mocks , but the above things helped me a lot.

If you are thinking about getting into Indian B schools . I don`t think you`ll have any problems. All will depend on how you will be able to narrate your past expereinces. So get remove the shackles which are holding you back.... and start preparing

Ans will depend on what percentile figure are you targeting...
and there is no quick fix solution ... if problem exist which you urself know that it do.... then the only way out is the hard work
please guide me. ive got only 59%
in BE from nagpur university. still i got placed:thumbsup: at campus interview in KPIT cummins and been working in it for the past 4 months. i participated in various events in college and held important posts and all (hence the low score in my acads :drinking:) thr by making my resume till now look good so far.
so i wanted to know is tht how badly will this "BE score" affect my selection in a good institute like IIMs after CAT.

Well frankly one never knows. IIMs are drastically changing their admission criteria every year without any advance notification. There are haphazard weightages being given to the 10th 12th n grad scores by different IIMs so noone can predict nething abt this. The only thing tht can b done is study well for cat n crack it but do not only depend on IIMs. Thr r other good instis like XLRI, FMS, IIFT etc which u can crack n get into for a good education if u study hard.
