I am working in an IT firm. I have experience of 3 years now.
Last year i had given all MBA exams but wasn't able to convert any call. I am not able to give time to MBA Preparation because of work.
I think of quitting the job in sep/oct this year and focus fully on MBA Preparation. till then my experience would be 3.5 years.
1) But quittting a job a good option?
2) will i be asked abt this in any of the interviews? (gd/pi start in march. so, till march 2010, i would be idle for 6 months)?
3) is this option justified?
4)How can i justify this when asked in an interview?
Any one with similar experience , please reply.

but a miss fortune happens with me that i got a supply in one of my btech paper and if i give the re exam then my result came in september 2011
so should i continue preperation for mba or drop it .

.
because i dont know till councelling i have certificates in my hand or not.

.
my past history are
10+12btech 66% with one standing sply
and 2yr gap between btech and 12th
currently preparing for cat and job searching also
.
.
so plz suggesed what to do as soon as possible

MBA in hosp admin will let u in some related domain as u have....

i wanted my career to be back on track so i decided to give cat and do mba from one of the best institutes in india. but you know what cat is . got mere 90 %ile . coudnt convert any of the calls because of such a poor profile and low %ile.
i came to bangalore to find a job. its a month now and still dont have a job.now what should i do ?
should i waste time here in finding job?
should i concentrate in cat prep?
should i take BPO job?
should i make my profile stronger before giving cat again?
please tell me what you will do in this situation

Makin ur profile stronger, along with CAT prep is d bestoption acc 2 me...
BPO job...a strict NO NO.. d expeience also doesnt count, and its mere time waste if u seriously wanna do CAt prep

I have a weird suggestion, work with a start-up.
Learn to differentiate yourself in the market. Also, it would help if you are passionate about what you are doing.
Do more by doing more diverse things. Don't just do things keeping your "mba" in mind. It will screw you. Learn to objectively discern how to make the best career movies.

Hello Puys!!! I need some serious advice from you guys regarding my career plan....
I'm a First class mechanical engineer, just like thousands of others in the market, who got into engg because Engg & Medical are the only two under-grad career options which are considered sacrosanct in this country(No Offence). Then I worked with an engg firm in the desired Power sector for 16 months.I left the job last Oct(2009) as I was frustrated with the company and also, as I had been planning to pursue an MBA course for more than a year.As I'd a good exposure to corporate Finance during that period, I felt an urge to pursue an MBA in Finance than stay and rot in the engg sector as I wasn't made for it.I gave all possible entrance exams, gave it almost everything and still failed miserably in all. After that, I worked in a BPO for about 2.5 months for the moolah and now I'm again at home doing nothing.
Now, as I don't have any other option, I'll be taking up an MBA course from a
Tier-2,3,4..100 college under MAH-CET having an avg pack of Rs2.5-3 LPA or so.Taking everything into consideration, what I've planned is that I'll be giving the CFA L-1 exam next June(2011).Am I taking the right decision? What are the career prospects of a CFA+MBA(Finance)from an average B-school (affiliated to Mumbai/Pune Univ)?
Also, puys, can u pls suggest something productive that can I do in the next 2 months as I'll be sitting idle at home throughout the time till I get admission in a B-school as I'm expecting a desired allotment only in the IIIrd or the Counselling Round of CET?If I don't do anything I'll go nuts and might even get into a mental asylum.

P.S.:I don't intend on sounding frustrated but can't help as I feel very helpless & hopeless at this moment as all my dreams of getting into a B-school of my choice have been shattered and I've exhausted all my options....Sorry for the long post!

Dude depends upon how much do u aspire..many of us waited for years to goto d IIMs. and few jst tried ones gave up totally or settled for less. So give some mocks, check where u stand, correlate it with how much hard work u can do, and how much are your aspirations and then decide. right before starting for d first step u cant decide ur destiny. And dont be too pessimistic as well, believe in urself and ur capabilities.
