My shift was from 8.30 to 6 (on papers)..but u know travelling in mumbai takes a lot of time..i started from my house at 7 and cud return only by 8.30 -9 ...
About groans..i have no idea...i have started using PG regularly recently....its like i am making a record or some thing.. which colleges have u converted
seeing ur shift timings i can understand how difficult it is for u to work nd study both...but i would still suggest you not to leave the job...at first it might prove to be difficult for u but eventually u'll get accustomed to it..
i've got final convert in nmims actuarial science...have joined nmims and waiting for some other results now...

10th - 84% 12th - 59% Diploma in EC - 79% Btech in EC - 70%
Passed out in 2010. Hate s/w to the core, infact technology for that matter. Unfortunately, had to spend six long years in doing what i absolutely hate. Relating academic score to the level of interest is stupidity. I tried to give my best as i have a tendency to be sincere in whatever i take up.
Now, the problem is, i work as an intern in a very good (according to the industry standards) R&D; embedded communication software company. I have no clue if i'll be absorbed. After i am done with it and not absorbed, I'll have two options, either to find a job in s/w (which will mean i'll torture myself) or find a job which might help me later after my MBA (say, in advertising or HR) or third, should i go for CAT prep fulltime?
After spending six long years should i find another job in s/w () ?
Again, i am aware of the fact that atleast 2 years of work-ex proves to be beneficial but s/w!!!! Noooooo.
Hey puys, I wanted to share some of my experience that I feel will make u feel better.
As for my background, I have very good academic background,(89 in 10th and 91 in 12), engineer from Manipal (CGPA-9.1 and have been working for the past 8 months. I have no gaps and have a lot of extra curricular too. I thought I would get easily through some good b-schools.. How wrong I was.
Here's the ground reality. I gt calls from IIM I,S,SIBM,IMT,MDI,NMIMS,XLRI. (CAT score > 98 %ile) IIM Shillong - Reject(HAd an awesome GD/PI) SIBM - Reject (Do i need to say anything about this one!!! ) MDI - Waitlisted (Very remote chance of PGPM, they have actually given their ranks in decreasing order of the applicants' CAT %ile, No weightage to GD/PI or profile whatsoever, Wasnt expecting this from MDI 😞 ) XLRI - Reject (No weightage to past profile of candidate. This wasnt the case just with me. Although I had a very good GD/PI, but lets assume that I screwed, but there are so many ppl I know, so many friends who had evrything (good profile, work-ex, comm. skills, good GD/PI, good score in XAT) still rejected. And I know 2 ppl who did not have any of these, they plainly lied about how they wnated to improve this country, the towns they hail from they got through, straight converts (although now both of them are talking about the international placements of XLRI :P).
These are just my experiences and I have not written all of them. I worked my ass off to get into good indian b-school. I had so much hope because I had everything that an ideal MBA candidate is supposed to have. Still here I am, being laughed at as a loser, watching the biggest losers pass by. I am done with indian MBAs. I am really done with them. Had so much respect for these colleges. But seriously not any more.
Guys a bit of advice, dont worry. Keep preparing but dont hope that u ll get thru if u study more. Its a completely different ball game out here. As for me, Well, I have given GMAT got 700. I ll start applying to some universities. I am off!!!!

I wont console you. In fact my results are pretty similar to yours and one of the facts that I have realized that season is that telling truth in interviews can be harmful. Its always good to bluff and be more tactful rather than open up in an interview.
I also had XLRI BM and HRM both calls and I was more than frank in both those interviews. I also have a reasonable decent profile. But I really found it difficult to gauge what XLRI was looking for. Anyways my friend in IIMB said that if you dont get through a college consider that it was the college's fault rather than yours.
Have similar opinion like you though. Will give GMAT and try for a foreign MBA next year.For the record see this interview of Allwin Agnel , Pagalguy founder. He was rejected by IIMK but was selected at Wharton and Oxford. In his interview he mentions that Indian Bschools evaluate people more as an entity rather than an individual. After this years interviews cant agree more.

Go for NITT its a gud clg...with gr8 ROI.....u dont know were u end up nxt yr...CAT is now all abt which slot u get...Since u said ur dad has retired...then filling costly forms nxt yr will also count huge on u....... But if u r very adamant then u can luk for some decent job n try cracking nxt yr......

I would suggest u to continue with ur internship....ur acads are also decent...u can also start preparing for cat and other exams this year.there is still some time left for cat...So Gear Up for entrance exams and do ur internship properly...things will turn in ur way ATB:cheerio:

It's cool, remember what the XAT results site tell you when you don't convert - "This is not an indicator of your true potential". Gauge what mistakes you made in your CAT prep strategy, as well as areas of deficiency in CAT syllabus, and try to fix what you did wrong. All the best!

To all guys who cudnt clear entrance exams, ok now i will write abt my journey, i passed out in 2008 from decent college.....i had got around 8 KT'S in my engineering n managed 2 get degree in 4 years...but it was of no use i cudnt get decent job due 2 my low grad%...n finally got a job with salary of 15,000rs per month.i gave cat exam in 2007(in 3rd yr of engineering),2008,09,10 but failed miserably....gave snap,iift,xat in 2007,08,09,2010.....i felt i cud crack cat in 2010 so left job in aug 2010 to study n managed mere 78 percentile...it did hurt me badly but still snap n other exams were there..so studied for snap n got thru sibm-bangalore....its not gr8 college but okish.i m below average guy.i just want to tell my friends keep trying till you succeed.Never ever lose hope.be positive.i had to give exams four times....i dont even have so much money to pay sibm-b fees.......but finally my aim is to do MBA.No matter how much time a person takes to succeed but it's the attitue dat matters.Keep trying guys,remember failures makes the person more HARD and i tell u dat most successful people have gone thru big failures,its stepping stone towards success.Keep trying for entrance exams,u will get what u deserve one day.Dont lose heart...be positive. note:sorry for writing such big post. hey bro,just go for job and get a year of experience and give ur best shot for all entrance exams dis year...u r just passed out so try for another year,u will get better than sibm-b & nit-t... n do ur best....hope dis helps...all d best...

Now my parents, family, friends and even I have started doubting my skills in PI. I have very good GD skills as well as essay writing skills.. well m a jobless person probably a fact associated with most of maths hons people atleast in delhi university. and i don't think i'll get a good job in d near future...so it becomes all that more imperative for me to convert UBS chandigarh..which i never wanted to join...i know i can again get such calls or even better one's next year but the problem is m not getting a job...so i m forced to join UBS if i convert...i hope no1 faces such a situation as i do...just wanted a platform to vent out my frustration... but i'll not give up...my dream is not to just get a good MBA degree..for me MBA is a means to an end...and to that end- i'll write my own destiny... Hardwork never goes unpaid

Do you have an idea about what went wrong in your GD-PI? If yes,then work on it. I very highly doubt if there's no UP board student enrolled in any IIM right now. I know it's easier said than done, but having faith and working on yourself can surely get you into an IIM.
