Anyone here who has given interview at IIM I ... When can we expect to hear the result of IIM I FPM ???
To all the Puys who are going to IIM - B; I spoke with the FPM office today. We will be getting receipts of the caution deposit via mail. Also forms are sent to hostel office for those who have opted for hostel and we will be informed soon.
if one wants to join the academics full time - then FPM is the only option - thinking of doing EFPM and having corporate salary will not help. I have 11+ years of IT industry experience and a 2 year executive MBA from IIMK done in 2011 (operations and marketing as specializations). I also thought at that time that with my industry +EMBA i can teach. But the 2012 year proved me wrong. I have applied for teaching in most of the IIMs (including IIMK) + MDI / IMT and many more. Not a single call for interview! When i contacted them, they said looking for full time PhD. If you check today's ascent in TOI bangalore, most of the faculty positions require pHD. Though they mention industry experienced guys may also apply but that doesnt work. The problem is what industry experience? The IT experience wont help. there are barely 2-3 subject related to IT - MIS, e commerce and e business. ERP. However industry experience of development or some pathetic practice of project management will not be considered to teach the brightest minds at IIM! What happens in reality, from my organization 2-3 people go to few IIMs to take some *sessions* on what is happening in the latest Industry to give a brief idea. But for permanent faculty position, they are never discussed. Secondly, some courses where this industry experience helps which i also found in IIMK were Legal aspects of business (taken by excellent practicing lawyer), Accounting (40+ experience as CA, again an amazing person), Management communications, and few sessions for marketing course related to CRM (technical stuff how it works) etc. this is what i have experienced in person and thought of sharing.
Hi puys, Got an email from IIM Cal stating that there will be a qualifying mathematics exam during first two weeks of joining of FPM students. They say that those who do not qualify the exam will have to take a non-credit maths course during first term and retake the qualifying maths exam at the end of the term.
Well, I studied maths upto class 10th only, after that I do not have any link with the 10+1 and 10+2 class math. To clear the qualifying exam, I feel in addition to the non-credit course I will need extra classes or tutorials. Is this kind of facility available at IIM Cal or can we find any teacher outside campus for taking tuition for maths.........any suggestions

Guys....Only candidate selected in OB & HRM in IIM Raipur out of 46 opted for it.... Stipend is very lucrative and institute infra is OK.....however will be joining XLRI in HRM....Pls. suggest am i in the right route???

IIM Calcutta is worst. Please don't do FPM there. All bullshits are there.
Let me ask you question do you find gujarati professor at IIMA, do you find south Indians at IIMB

magar sab bangali bhare pade hai IIMC main this shows how much they are focused on FPM.

FPM was down since last few days.. after reporting it yesterday it is working. however i see that during the black out days, people posted here..so was it only for me? also just noticed some abuse stuff from arun..what is happening..this place should be for useful discussions and helping each other..no place for abuse...
